"Lovely hotel, rooms a bit old fashioned but very clean and exceptionally good value for what we paid. We didn’t partake in breakfast or dinner as we had friends staying nearby and we ate out with them but we did purchase teas and coffees which were good. We will definitely be visiting again soon!"

"A lovely welcome at check-in, followed by a good night stay. Convenient hotel with easy walk to Knaresborough. The only chaotic bit was breafast. 2 staff members running around and we're quite abrupt with guests (and myself included). Next time, I'd probably skip breakfast and go up the road to a cafe!"

"Always have a lovely stay at the Crown. The breakfast cooked to order is lovely. All of the different sitting areas in the hotel are quirky and well furnished to sit for a drink/coffee or just for a chat, or you can help complete the current jigsaw that is on the go. The pool etc is good and if you choose to forgo your room clean they leave additional supplies in a paper bag on the handle of your door so you don't go short of tea/coffee etc. The bathrooms are a bit dated but very clean with nice toiletries The staff were all lovely and accommodating"

"The hotel was very nice but was a little dated in some areas. The keys to the rooms were large mortice types with a large wooden fobs which made them difficult to carry around. Mine broke when I sat down because it was in my back pocket. The receptionist said it was okay when I reported it and said that it had happened to someone else that day. The car park entrance/exit was very tight between 2 buildings and was almost impossible if you were entering from the left. Having made these points we still enjoyed our stay and the staff were all very friendly and polite. We would stay again."

"Wonderful setting, plenty of parking, Room very clean and impressively decorated, though peeling decorative strips on the wardrobe door detracted a little. Breakfast excellent and service and breakfast first class. The same could not be said for evening service on our first night in the Elements restaurant - 2 1/4 hours for two courses and we had to go ask for the dessert menu was unacceptable. In fairness, evening service on our second night was much improved. Plenty of choice on the evening menu and the food all well cooked."

"It was an absolute joy to be able to stay in this beautiful and historic Lodge house. The property is quite stunning, set on the edge of a huge estate in rolling countryside. Everything you need is provided in the Lodge, and the enclosed garden is of a good size which was perfect for our Afghan Hound, Jagger, to be able to stretch his legs and generally explore. It was very peaceful and very comfortable. The estate is huge and we probably only saw a very small part of it when out walking but where we were was obviously working farmland with various crops, a magnificent herd of cows and some sheep. It felt very special to stay here."
