"Absolutely a beautiful, peaceful, tranquil place to have a get away from the hustle and noise of everyday life. From a single mom of two high energy kids, this was exactly what I was hoping for on my vacation. And being an American, it was a perfect stay in such a beautiful country. Absolutely perfect!"

"An old building but good facilities and friendly staff"
"A lovely pub stay in a beautiful village. The staff work very hard to ensure their guests enjoy their stay and I certainly did! As a solo traveller, I felt safe and not out of place at all. Dinner and breakfast both delicious. Room perfect with thoughtful little touches. The entrance was narrow as others have mentioned but not too awful. Highly recommend! "
"A good stay.
Nice hotel. Very central. Good restaurant & bar.
Room nice. Good bed and shower fine.
I was on a cycling holiday and they have a room to lock my bike up in - which was nice too"
"We had the hayloft that could sleep 3 but was a win for us as a couple. It was in a out building, with easy access to the garden, bar and dining areas, but was a bit difficult to get suitcases over the gravel pathway. Very quiet, lots of space and windows to open. The restaurant meal and breakfast was fabulous."
You can do some window-shopping at Richard Booth's Bookshop during your visit to Hay on Wye. Wander around the gardens in this quaint area or simply enjoy its bars.
A trip to Hay Castle takes you on a journey of discovery through the ages. This castle, which is part Norman, part Jacobean and part Victorian, has stood for more than 1,000 years and has been a medieval stronghold, occupied by invaders, a patriots’ citadel, a manor house and even a famous bookshop.
