Disappointing Stay

Booked for 2 nights; first room 127 - very nice and roomy n first night. Moved to room 209 on second night - much too cramped in that room. Disappointing stay because of that.

Comfortable room

This hotel was really good value for money. The room was spacious even with three of us in it, beds were comfortable and room was clean. Room could do with hooks to hang coats, rather than having to use the wardrobe.

Hotel was great for the money and the spa facilities were okay, although if you want a treatment you should book ahead.

Lovely hotel…spoilt by noise and no air con!

Lovely hotel, staff extremely friendly. Room was nice but was incredibly hot lacked any fan or air con. Another disappointment was the noise, there was prom night happening at the hotel and it was very busy, we were situated at the front of the hotel and it was noisy. Wish they had warned us when we booked as we probably would have changed to another night because the noise was too be expected but extremely frustrating when you can’t get to sleep!

A stopover in Bransford

Room was very good and spacious. However, the service in the evening was terribly slow and the food was disappointing and overpriced.The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide range of options.

Large hotel but retaining personal feel with local staff. Everything that would be expected of 4 star hotel. Restaurant and bar food good. On bus route but limited frequency service.

Great location, Great stay

stayed for 1 night for work. Used the Pool and spa facilities which were excellent and clean. Room clean and comfortable temperature, Shower hot and powerful. Evening meal was nice, 2 menus available and well priced, service was really friendly. Breakfast good quality but could have been better options without having to pay a surcharge for some. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

1 night couple stay + Sunday lunch

Lovely 1 night stay. Simple yet comfortable room. Slightly disappointed with the spa, very over crowded, very small pool area. All other amenities such as hot tub, steam room and sauna also very small and always full so we didn’t get great use of this unfortunately. The best Sunday lunch we’ve ever had! Portion sizes were absolutely huge so could barely manage half of the meat accompaniments but food was great. Breakfast was lovely. Reception and bar staff really lovely.

Nice hotel, some communal areas bit shabby. Radio music in bar and restaurant way too loud, need to consider more muted music and preferably not the radio. Spa small but well maintained. Another customer on facetime in jacuzzi! Maybe notices about not using phones. Staff in all areas very friendly.

Lovely spa

The pool was amazing and the spa staff were lovely. The hotel itself was very cold, the radiators were insufficient for the rooms and kept switching off without warning up. There was no hot water in the showers and mould on the bathroom ceiling. There is a £10 charge for a travel cot in a family room which is something I have never experienced, I think the expectation was for the baby to sleep on the sofa. The check in staff seemed completely dry arched from the hotel and unconcerned with issues. The restaurant and bar staff were fantastic and the food was lovely.

Really enjoyed our stay – shame it was only one night. I was travelling overnight with my teenage son and thought we might as well stay somewhere nice with a pool! And it was. Lots of parking on a rainy Sunday night in August. Family Room was a really good size – wouldn’t have been cramped with a couple plus two or three children. Nice enough pool, sauna, steam room, etc – really helpful member of staff (Gina?) explained what was where. Really liked the same evening menu served in the bar as the adjacent restaurant – makes the choice easier if you don’t want too much formality. Carly and James really pleasant and efficient behind the bar. Lovely breakfast – even the tomatoes were grilled properly: soft, succulent, sweet, as opposed to the raw-with-burnt-skin most places serve now. Good bacon. Negatives? Only the comedy wash basin design in the bathroom . . . but there was a hair drier to dry my trousers off with. Got me twice! Everything else worked in the room. Building itself is architecturally uninspired, but the staff were super. Aim to go back for a weekend with my wife. I’ll warn her about the wash basin on the way . . .
