The staff, led by Ivor, is extraordinary, attentive and caring. They set a tone that carries the place, makes it warmly and quintessentially Scottish. Breakfast is superb, the Grand Cafe very good, and the location amid the heart of The Royal Mile utterly perfect.

Great hotel in a handy location. Rooms are great and the pool is a decent size -19 metres. My only issue is the water pressure was a bit low, shower was underwhelming

The stand out was the service. Friendly staff and excellent service. Room service was speedy and if you had breakfast included there was no extra charge. We had an issue with our TV and someone was there within 2 mins.
The amenities in the bathroom smelt gorgeous. Loved the variety in the mini bar. Good size mugs for a cuppa.
Only down side was the water pressure in the shower.
