"The staff were great but the property could do with a bit of an upgrade. Shower nozzle was blocked and the shower gel was empty. That being said it was not expensive and we had good craic with Dougie and the other locals in the bar."
"This place has potential but at the moment it is like a building site, in proper ruins. Seemed like they had a handful of rooms people can use and everything else was doors smashed in, locks smashed. The SPA is in ruins.
I left after a night having booked for 3 and they have refused a refund! "
"The sample photos must be a few years old, because the building façade and our room were already getting on in years. In our bathroom there were many black mold stains or something like mold on the joints. Something like that really shouldn't be there. But the food and staff were very friendly and nice. I think it's just a practical hotel to start the West Highland Way from, as we did after a very short stay. But not a feel-good vacation spot.

"Attended a Wedding at the property which performed an excellent venue and service. Next days breakfast was one of the best we have had with many options from fresh food menu served by polite helpful staff.
Recommend a visit if your in the area."
"We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the accommodation and the fact that the bed was far too narrow for two adults. Even though the staff was kind, these issues made our stay uncomfortable."
"We loved this place! It was clean amd spacious, the staff were soooo helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was the best we had during our time in Scotland. The train station is less than a block away. It was a fabulous stay!"

"Comfortable bed. Had quite a 'budget' feel overall. It was about the cheapest hotel in the area in terms of price and it definitely felt it it most ways. Looks and feels like needs a lot of maintenance.
We joked in the elevator on arrival that the voice announcing the floor level sounded Sybil Fawlty-esque (Fawlty Towers). Little did we know that the Fawlty Towers feeling would pervade further.
We booked for 2 guests but the room had 1 towel and 1 hand towel.
Breakfast was included in our room rate- NEVER pay extra for the breakfast here. Were told on checkin that breakfast was from 8am. Thought that sounded late.
On arrival at the dining room at 8:10am, it was clear that many people had already eaten and left. I think the hotel had about 3 coach tours and wanted them to have breakfast before non-tour guests. Certainly had a sense of being a second class guest.
We were told to take any table we wanted. After walking around, it was clear that there were NO set tables. I asked the attendant if she could point out a table that was set and we could use and she said she'd set one up.
The fruit salad and yoghurt was almost gone and none was replaced in the 40 minutes we were there. We and other guests had to ask for a range of things not being replenished- cutlery, coffee mug, cereal bowl.
Unfortunately, I don't believe I've ever encountered a worse breakfast in terms of appointments and food quality. Staff were courteous, accommodating when asked to assist."
"We had a really good stay, room very clean and bed comfortable. Staff were very attentive.
My only complaint was the air-conditioning in the room was on and blowing cold. I couldnt "

"Fantastic location for a nights stay before travelling to Islay from Cumbria. Amazing views across Long Loch. Hotel was spacious but a wee bit dated. Food was delicious and all the staff we encountered were really friendly "
