Picturesque, historical and, above all, friendly, there is much to see in the Alicante, from the great harbour to Santa Barbara Castle to the beaches of Benidorm. In Alicante, the climate is always pleasant and the sun always shines, even in the winter.
Alicante is ideal for family holidays; several of the hotels and resorts have a kids club and you can ask at the front desk for a cot to be put in the room. The old town of Alicante offers visitors endless discoveries. Stroll through the Santa Cruz district, admire the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and St. Roch's Church, climb Monte Benacantil and discover the regional culture in the Museo de Belenes. Like golf? There are a number of resorts in Alicante with their own golf course. These, however, are a bit further from the beach.
Benidorm is where you can soak up the sun and have yourself a well earned rest on the beach. The hotels in Benidorm are large and luxurious, offer all-inclusive packages and locations close to the beach. Find a spot close to the beautiful Levante Beach or Poniente Beach. Since the weather is always good, Benidorm is a prime location for a beach holiday.
Head inland, west of Alicante, and you’ll find the cosy Elche. Nature lovers will love the area for its safari park and bird watching. There’s also great hiking trails and bike rental, making it great for an active holiday for those that love the great outdoors.
Torrevieja is ideal for beach lovers, with long stretches of sea and sand running alongside the boulevards. Culture lovers will love Villajoyosa and its remnants of a 16th century fort.
