I had yet another great stay at The Edgbaston Palace Hotel. I have used this hotel for years when needing a hotel in Birmingham. Good value for the money.

Only there from 5pm & left next morning 11am. Did not get to see amenities at all. The triple room was ok for what we paid. Staff were very helpful, grounds neat, room was cosy. Buses into town centre close.
The check in process was smooth, the girl on reception was helpful and professional. We had booked two rooms and they had kept us together in adjacent rooms which was great. Only disappointing factor was you weren’t allowed any food or drinks in the room which wasn’t purchased from the hotel. Makes things tricky with two children and trying to keep costs down. Especially in recent times when it’s hard to find a restaurant to dine out at.
Came to get back in the room around 10 and no one to been seen hate to set the fire alarms off on the hotel to access the hotel and get to our room
Rang the place countless times and rung the bell.
Setting off fire alarms was last and only option

the hotel served its purpose for 1 night, looks a bit tired but then this is probably reflected in the price. Good breakfast, parking was the key factor in choosing the hotel and proximity to city centre and other amenities
This hotel was unfortunately a lot more run down than I was expecting. I did however appreciate the free tea, coffee and biscuits provided in the room.
On arrival the receptionist was a little moody and not at all welcoming of the guests. I had to ask twice if breakfast was included but she was more interested in laying down all the rules of which there are many. Including them stuck to the walls over the property and in our room...check out 20 mins late is £20...nice attitude!
After lovely evening out n B'ham we cam back. Our room as in a seperate part of the building to the main hotel and we had to ress a buzzer to gain entrance. There was a man on the telecom who I couldn'tunderstand whos tone was quite angry. He had a bit of an attitude.
Ojk so the room...well although it was basic and old fashioned looking it had tea facilities and a shower, towels etc. But on closer nspection the carpet was badly stained and there was some horrible stains in the shower which put me and my partner off using it. Then there was the fusty smell...it was bad! The bed itself was really uncomfortable and the street noise from outside was really bad. The hall light was constantly on and lit our room up. There was also people coming and going all night and being very load.
Breakfast in the morning was pretty basic. There was cereal and juice and tea coffee which was fine. I rdered scrambled eggs on brown toast. The toast was cheap thin stuff and the eggs looked like they were cooked n the microwave..

Lovely shower and drinks, hairdryer, cupboard space all good
The room and service was very good, the lovely lady at reception was a joy and helpful throughout our stay, the bar manager also covered maintenance in the evening and again was a pleasure and really helpful throughout. The staff are the real asset of this little gem of a hotel, would definitely stay there again, the food was lovely and glad we dined in hotel and not eaten out.

Only stayed for the night and the twin room that I was given was like someones front living room on the ground floor overlooking the main road. Curtains didnt close fully and no bath tub. Asked to be moved to another roon away from the main road and was allocated a room away from the main building in the newer build section. Pleasant enough cosy room but the beds were hard. The highlight of the stay was the cooked to order full english breakfast.
I was very disappointed by choosing this hotel. Baby was not going to sleep as the room was cold, and there was light coming through the window the whole night, because the curtains are very small.
Mattress wasn’t comfortable at all. I was once again shocked when I got in the shower, the shower was boiling hot and the cold water bit wasn’t working, so I had to take a shower with boiling hot seater.
One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The girl with the hijab on reception had no customer service skills whatsoever and was rude and unhelpful. After returning to the hotel in the evening I discovered the rear gates for the car park were locked, so had my car have been in there I would not have been able to get out and this was never mentioned to me during check in. Stay away from this place, outdated and terrible.
This is not a hotel , more a half way house refuge type place. Receptionist reads a long list of things you cannot do while being imprisoned. The cell was bearable and very small. So glad i got parole the next morning and was released. Would make a great xmas reality show on how not to do hotels

Check in was hard work, had lto take full fee twice ine for authorisation. Had to have photo ID. The room was very cold. The radiator was on Max and could feel it was warm. I was sitting in my coat and scarf. They sent someone and he said that it was on max. Reception said rhey would change my room but they would all be the same so i declined and asked for a second quilt which they provided

Rooms are really small! Doesn’t look like pictures
I do not expect to be spoken to rudely by people working at the Hotel. I am a guest who is bringing income to a Hotel and deserve to be treated with respect. I will not use this Hotel again, there are plenty of other Hotels in the area.
This was my 3rd sat here this year and my last. From the surly attitude of the receptionist, too noone helping us take cases up 2 flights of stairs , down another of steps and through 3heavy fire doors. Keys didn't work and we were talked to like children when going to get them sorted. The rooms had no chairs windows painted shut. We were also right above function room that had an incredibly loud fluctuating volumn DJ until nearly 12pm ... So loud my bed, door and TV were vibrating.
