Black Boys Hotel

Black Boys Hotel

8/10 Good
"Lovely old building, excellent food, well stocked bar, superb helpful and friendly staff, comfortable room. Only downside for us with slightly limited mobility was the stairs need a second handrail and although not the fault of the hotel, it's on a busy junction and road noise is intrusive from quite early in the morning."

Scarborough Hill Country Inn

Scarborough Hill Country Inn

10/10 Excellent
"Lovely small hotel in beautiful grounds we had the Hamilton suite and it was perfect, Elemis products, deep bath plenty of tea, coffee, milk and biscuit etc bottled water refreshed daily. The dining area is very cosy, candle lit in the evening giving it a warm feel, food was amazing and all freshly prepared served by friendly staff. We had Sunday lunch the three roast and although it was a bit pricy it was well worth the money, sticky toffee pudding after was huge! If I lived closer I’d definitely have to have Sunday roast regularly. Great selection of continental breakfast and cooked breakfast which is individually cooked for you and worth the wait. There is a play area for the children, outside table tennis, sun beds and plush seating outside, plenty of parking to the rear. This is a dog friendly Inn so just be mindful if you are not a dog person as dogs are allowed in the dining area at times. Reception is not maned during the night but emergency telephone numbers available. The only negative I have is there was a small yapping dog of one of the guests which did disturb us occasionally during the stay the larger dog were no problem!"

The Globe Inn Wells

The Globe Inn Wells

8/10 Good
"We found the room was reasonably comfortable, but it was unfortunate that where we were staying the bedroom window was permanently frosted so we didn’t have a view out. There was a restaurant on site which we used on one evening, however, we found it to be somewhat overpriced. We also felt it seemed to be going through an identity crisis as it gave the appearance of a high end eating place and yet it was full of noisy dogs, babies, and toddlers. This made it difficult to enjoy a nice relaxed meal. Breakfast was excellent with lots of options available. The only parking available is on the road outside which resulted in a fairly long walk from the car with a suitcase."
