"Our room was in the annexe. This was noisy as there was a group of teenagers running around during the evening on the floor above. The bedroom was comfortable but dark and the bathroom was very shabby. There was mould in the shower and on the windows. The general decor was drab and outside the bedroom window was untidy with an acrow prop in view. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cooked to order breakfast was very good. Unfortunately the standard of the room and bathroom made it a generally disappointing stay and it would be great if Greene King could invest a lot more money into this lovely, historic building."

"I booked a twin room but it was made up as a double so had to get this changed. Requested a walk in shower but got a shower room with glass walls! Staying with my 90 year old mother so was not happy with this. Hotel looked lovely from outside but inside decor was very bland and boring. Gardens had not been yended to and grass not cut. Having informed the hotel i was staying with my 90 yo mother and requested a downstairs room they put us at the far end of the hotel so we to walk a ling way. They also failed to say they had a lift! All windows were dirty. Disabled parking spaces were inadequate as no yellow hatching to open doors wide. 3 spaces should inly have been one. Bushes also in the way. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate although plates cold. Overall expensive."

"Reserved a twin room. The first room that we were assigned had not been cleaned and there was water all over the bathroom floor from where someone had a shower. Given another room. Thought it had been cleaned but upon turning covers back at night found the bed with sheets all messed from someone else sleeping in it and they were dirty. It had not been cleaned. At night no one mans the reception and you have to phone someone to come out. Decided to check out early and ask for a refund. Place very dated. Lights in room not working. Room door handle nearly falling off. Windows glazing blown so full of moisture inside. Part of ceiling missing in hallway outside room. Breakfast advertised as continental but wasn’t. Lack of staff around. Spoke to another guest there and he said he had to be given a different room as his room hadn’t been cleaned either. Do not go to this place at all!"

"The horses cab was very cute and well designed, spotless and cosy.Very relaxing place, the views of waking upIn the morning with the horses are amazing. Also have pigs, a little pony that is very friendly and trots around in the open. Owners were friendly polite and very helpful on call with anything you needed help with. Even had a lovely wood fire whilst watching the stars. Recommend highly for a relaxing weekend break. Will be going back forSure. Thank you"
