"Fantastic hotel, would highly recommend. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming and attentive. The hotel itself is very nice, clean and has a great vibe to it. The food was phenomenal and I ended up eating breakfast and lunch most days at the hotel. It's in a great location too and has an awesome little swimming spot in the ocean. I was a solo traveler and felt very safe here. Very worth it to upgrade your room to an ocean view!! Would definitely come back!"

"A great hotel in a nice location. We enjoyed our stay. Very clean and tidy. The property had the feel of a grand plantation house. The only thing letting it down was the slight complexity over the amenities. Whilst it has its own pool, everything else you require, such as food, bars, larger pools, etc., needs to be accessed from the Pestana hotels next door, which can be accessed through a route within the grounds. We found the breakfast area well, but never found the bar or other areas, as it was slightly confusing. I think a quality onsite restaurant would be a real asset here, along with some evening entertainment. We went out to nearby restaurants every night, as we didn’t feel the hotel had much to offer in this regards. We had a few small issues with housekeeping, but once we raised the problems, they were quick to remedy them. The hotel is situated about 20-25 min walk from the main town of Funchal - so within a reasonable difference. For the price of this hotel, I think things like an airport transit service would be nice. Overall a nice establishment, with good and knowledgeable staff. Felt more like a bed and breakfast facility. There was no room service, to the best of our knowledge. The acid test is always, would you stay again - I would say “yes” but probably when the rooms were on sale price etc. I would certainly recommend the hotel. Clean, good quality, and nice staff. A little expensive for the amenities on offer but otherwise great."
