"We stayed for two nights in a family room whilst visiting family in Preston. The Claremont was clean, warm, comfortable and great value. We were delayed due to a cancelled ferry and they very were accommodating about a late check-in. "

"General manager and the cleaning team were very helpful and was the only one that we felt that understood good customer service. Lifts are small. Card wasn't working on the second day and had to come back downstairs after running the Manchester marathon to get it activated again. Reception staff barely made any eye contact the whole time we were there which came across rude and unhelpful at times. Good place to stay for low-medium budget and location near the station is good
Avoid the restaurant completely. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. It's not part of the hotel but it's joint next to it. Staff there are very rude and one of them shouted at the top of his voice across the room "oi oi" because the card machine didn't go through. He should have come over and explained what had happened calmly but no he continued to shout and say "I AM SO BUSY" to us in front of all the customers at the bar. He should never shout or raise his voice at anyone. I have never had my voice raised at in a restaurant/bar never mind be shouted at. Not long before this, the other member of staff came over and put some reserved signs down at our table saying "sorry you need to move". Again this was in a rude tone and I had just ran in the Manchester marathon and was shattered (it was obvious I was wearing running clothes and the medal), and instead should have said "sorry just to let you know this table is booked in __ minutes and I can help find you a new table if that's okay?"."
"Super overnight stay at the Brittania, shame I was solo this trip as was welcomed with a upgrade to a fantastic room wasted on me lol, shame about breakfast which I missed as service didn't start until 7.30am my flight was 8.40am, would have got all 5☆ if breakfast started at 6am, big old building lots of character, could do with a bit of tlc, otherwise great stay."
"First time for us at this modern hotel and it had everything we needed for a 2 night stay in Liverpool post cruise.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, they gave great local advice. The hotel felt very safe & secure, no one could just wander in. A hotel key card is needed for the doors and elevator.
Our room was great, very clean and the bed was so comfortable we slept 12hrs the first night!
The room had a mini kitchen, smart tv, huge wardrobe, safe & ironing board. Bathroom was huge but a walk in shower would have been easier for us both. I should have checked.
This was a room only basis but there are loads of eateries nearby. Highly recommend The Wreck for breakfast, just 50m away.
We would stay at The Resident Liverpool again."
"Always stay at the Liner with my friend and have done for many years .
Lovely ,friendly hotel .Handy for everything in the city .Staff are smashing and attentive .
Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable which is what you need after going round my favourite city.
Thank you"
"Clean room but bathroom needs some refurbishment, especially around the toilet. Bed was really comfortable, which was surprising as it looked exactly the same type of bed I slept in at The Copthorne Hotel in Newcastle a few weeks ago which was so uncomfortable I ached all over when I got up. I would have mentioned it to the Receptionist on checking out but I wasn't asked.
Staff were amazing, helpful and friendly. We were not happy with first room allocated on the 2nd floor, view made it feel like a prison but was re-allocated a room on the 4th with a lovely view of the canal.
Breakfast was OK but not very hot - I hate cold mushrooms!
Bar pleasant but not very big. We had a drink on the afternoon but it was too busy for us to enjoy a drink after 10.30pm so we didn't bother."
