Beach Hotels in Hertfordshire

"Room: Clean room, welcome cake and petals on the bed. Nice and modern with all amenities you’d hope to see. Only negative was that the room was very loud. We could hear everyone’s conversation extremely clearly as they walked past our room which did wake us up, especially as we were by the start of the corridor in room 47. Hotel as a whole: Grounds were well kept however very quiet. I assume the hotel is a venue for conferences and weddings as lots of function rooms. Staff: Staff were 50/50. Some lovely others not so warm. Other facilities: Pool we didn’t use. Restaurant not used. Breakfast was nice. A good selection for £10pp and open from 8-11 which we thought was very good, normally breakfast stops at 10 so this was nice to see. Bar was small, it wasn’t busy so it was okay but I could imagine it different if busy."

"Was planning on going out for a meal but decided to have dinner at the hotels restaurant. Was a bad choice as the pork ribs were not okay and smelt off and when the next order of chicken came it was definitely not fresh and me and my wife felt ill in the morning. This was related to hotel staff "

"Full of detail and character; the hotel staff were very helpful, food was fresh and tasty and the rooms clean and well appointed. A couple of minor repairs to damage (probably caused by previous guests) needed but overall, this was an excellent visit. "

"Parking: okay but almost got double charged by Reception Team. Breakfast: okay but no hot chocolate as 'run out', areas where food should be were empty (including fried eggs, and yoghurt in big bowl) and had to ask for pastries whilst bread was topped up and only 3 or 4 slices had been used from what was on view, priorities therefore needs to be reviewed ! Menu does not reflect what is actually on offer (e.g. potato slices on menu but actually were hash browns). Waiter very helpful. Breakfast was not that busy so hotel can't complain there was a rush of guests ! Hot food was generally presentable and well cooked. "

"Standard Village hotel. Clean and good staff. Usual full car park everytime. Shame it’s on an industrial estate. But other than that it’s good and quiet. "

"We booked this room while attending a black-tie event, so we had high expectations given the price. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The room itself was quite small, especially compared to the unusually large bathroom. When I went to take a shower, the water was only lukewarm, which was frustrating. Getting ready for the event was also inconvenient—there was no mirror near the desk/dressing table and no full-length mirror in the room. The only mirror was in the bathroom, which wasn’t practical while my partner was using it. This made preparing for a formal event much more difficult than it should have been. Additionally, the room felt very stuffy. Opening the window helped with ventilation, but it let in a lot of noise from an external fan, making it hard to relax. Overall, the room did not meet expectations for the price we paid."

"Parking easy and reception staff good. Corridors need serious upgrades as uncarpeted and bare. Room was cold and very poorly lit. Curtain looked like a wartime throwback. No real facilities and even the kettle had to be moved to a bedside table to plug in. Very uninviting and I am pleased that on this occasion I was on my own. Would have been good value at half the price (comparable then to teh travel lodge round the corner) "
