"Langley Castle is truly unique; restored to its original glory, it offers comfortable rooms and exquisite food. Good value accommodation, although the evening menu and add-ons soon add up. The free 45 minute tour of the castle was a highlight"

"Our room the Sebastia was dog friendly and the best we’ve ever had it was beautiful with a Juliet balcony and lovely views would highly recommend. The staff were lovely and the dogs had their own menus and not too far to walk the dogs on the beach before breakfast. Had evening meal first night at 8 pm the restaurant was full and so they were out of a few options but had the fish sharer for two and it was delicious. The first dog friendly hotel where you can take your dogs anywhere in the restaurant which was brilliant. All the dogs were well behaved we took 2 medium dogs would definitely return a great base for exploring the Northumberland coast loved our 2 night stay for my birthday"

"One of the best places I’ve stayed in a long time. Stayed here with my son as a stop of point on a ‘road trip’ and what a place!! Hit the driving range and the meal in the restaurant was fantastic!! The staff were very friendly and even willing to have a joke and carry on with my wee son. Will definitely be back and highly recommend this place!! Would love to try a long weekend and the golf course as it looks to be in great condition!!"

"Mum and I had a lovely 2 night stay at the Bailiffgate hotel. The hotel was beautifully appointed and clean. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was really good and the staff attentive. Our twin room was clean and perfect for a 2 night stay. I’d definitely recommend this hotel."

"We booked for 5 nights so that we could explore the area, having never visited north east England previously. The location suited our purpose very well. The breakfasts were good and the staff made sure that all dishes were kept well filled; my one suggestion for meal improvement concerns the fixed all day menu. Whilst I understand the convenience (for the hotel) of having a fixed unchanging menu (except for the specials which were not available every evening) it does not suit guest who stay longer than 3 or 4 days. It would be helpful if there were a second fixed (but different) menu that alternated with the first on say 5 day intervals. The only other thing that spoilt our stay was a (false) fire alarm which sounded 4 times between 2 and 3 am - not conducive to sound sleeping!"

"Lovely hotel, perfectly situated next to the harbour. Although our room was a bit small and looked out to a small yard where the laundry was kept, it was clean and modern. We didn’t try the restaurant but the bar was good and there was outdoor seating to enjoy the views out to sea. The only downside would be the prices but it was school holidays and in a prime location. Also, the car park was very small necessitating in a big cost to pay for parking in a local public car park."
