"I loved staying at this hotel. Parking was very convenient. The room was lovely and clean on arrival. The shower was amazing. Very powerful and clean. The staff at the reception and bar were extremely helpful. Breakfast was very nice with fresh bread in the morning. Thank you Holiday inn. I would stay again if needed."

"The room didnt smell nice and the beds werent comfortable. The hotel is in need of some maintaining The room didnt look the same as the photos on the Internet The room had lots of noise from outside and on the second night there were people shouting and arguing on the floor above which then carried on outside."

"We booked a standard double. Clean bedding & towels were organised upon arrival The water to shower “pressure” was slow we only stayed for 1 night very slow. The bathroom was clean, well used the hotel was the same in parts the wardrobe bathroom in a room felt a little unloved. The car park is spacious well late we arrived back from a wedding good lighting no issues. We arrived around 13:00 reception staff on arrival reception seemed pleasant enough offering breakfast £9 each we declined & picked up our own. Overall we spent little time in the hotel we came back 1115/1130pm after an all day wedding bar was closed no sign of anyone on front desk. We had room 323 easy to access up a small flight of stairs. Our room must have been an inter connecting a small lock between you and next door when I tried turning the handle I was horrified it turned a small household lock between you and the next room “maybe this should be upgraded” from a safety aspect. One thing we really valued was an earlier than planned check in, this helped no end as we were attending a wedding. We checked out early the next morning again 0845am no one on reception I recall leaving the key card in a box. Easy access to and fro the hotel Clean but old room could do with a mini make over"

"Stayed at the Black Dog Inn in Bolton for two nights. The room itself was comfortable enough for the price, so no major complaints there. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The first night was a write-off in terms of sleep. Staff gave a late booking to a couple who had been drinking in the pub, and they stayed up most of the night with the TV on at a very high volume. There’s clearly little to no sound insulation, as it felt like the noise was coming from inside the room. Housekeeping was also lacking. Despite leaving a sign on the door requesting the room be cleaned, it wasn’t reset after the first night and towels weren’t changed. Small details were missed too, like no cups provided for the kettle and tea-making facilities. For the price, it’s not the worst place to stay, but the noise and lack of attention to basic service would put me off returning."

"Was advertised as entire property to stay in but arrived to another person using another room. Only one room had a lock and key. No lock on toilet door. Facilities in the kitchen was not applicable to our party. 2 main big plates to share between 4 people 2 sets of knife and fork. Communiction between the property and myself was very laxed and had to chase details of stay. Television and wifi details were not given or left."

"The property did not fully match the listing, one of the bedrooms shown in the photos does not appear to exist, and the room our children were going to stay in had visible mould on the walls. While the property had been cleaned well, this is clearly a maintenance issue rather than a cleaning one. The hot tub, which was a key reason for booking, was not available on our first night. We were only told after arrival that a pump had been fitted that day and it needed time to heat overnight. This was not communicated beforehand, despite the host being responsive prior to the stay. Communication during the stay was poor. Messages raising concerns were largely ignored, and responses did not address the issues. It took further problems (power tripping throughout the kitchen) to get a reply, and this was only to check if the lights were on advise the problem would be looked at on the day after (our day of checkout). Fortunately we found the fuse box downstairs and found the issue, this happened 2 more times between out last night and morning of check out. Hotels.com did eventually provide a partial refund due to the hot tub, mould, and lack of communication. Overall, the property has potential but is let down by inaccurate listing details, maintenance issues, and poor communication from the host."
