"Nice hotel, 5mins walk to Cork centre & station"
A 3 night stay, 10-15mins walk from the train station, 5mins walk to Cork centre, located on the North side of the river. Parking for around 25 cars, which normally seems full, but I believe there is provision for extra parking (I didn't use this). Friendly staff throughout, nice modern, light, large, airy public areas - restaurant, bar, foyer, etc. Nice swimming pool with sauna rooms, kid's pool, and jacuzzi pool. Only 1.5m deep, but long enough to allow a decent swim - you'll need a swim cap, or borrow one from the desk, they'll provide a towel. Rooms are large enough, and comfortable, with a desk/dressing table, hairdryer, telly, easy chairs/table and WiFi. Ironing board and iron was quickly provided on request.. The hotel is not particularly noisy, but is close to the city centre, so there will be the occasional noises from outside, such as bin lorries, sirens etc. It's not on a major route out of town, so disturbances are minimal. Nice self-serve buffet breakfast, with a large selection of euro or trad-style breakfast foods. One or two sections of the hotel are ready for redecorating, but this is only apparent on close inspection, and they are by no means shabby. The hotel has a nice feel of an old building being well looked after. Good value, for the facilities provided, and rate paid. I would happily stay there again.
