"Beautiful hotel in great location"
Stayed just one night, but the hotel is beautiful and clean. The parking is about 3 blocks away, but was relatively convenient despite that. The hotel is in a good location, just a few blocks from plentiful shopping, restaurants, and pubs. It is right in the heart of Cork, so traffic can be heavy, but not difficult to navigate.

Staff was pleasant, helpful and informative. Keys need to be left at reception but this isn't a big problem. Room was spacious (for one) and had a large bathtub which was great to relax in after a long month of travels!

Absolutely gorgeous room (but a bit to warm at night to sleep). Staff were nice and very friendly. Hotel itself is very close to the city centre although it is on a bit off a hill so might not be suitable for elderly or disabled if they want to walk !!

"Worth a visit, good location, lovely restaurant"
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel is in a very good location, close to the train and bus stations and the city centre is within walking distance, as are a variety of tourist attractions. If you don't have a car, places like Kinsale, Cobh and Blarney are only a short bus ride away. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby with a wide variety of choice and entertainment. The hotel restaurant is in a lovely setting and the food is well presented and well worth a visit, with attentive staff. There's free wifi and there were tea and coffee making facilities in our room with a hairdryer and ironing board. The room was slightly dated but comfortable, they were refurbishing the floors below, which made no impact to our visit. I would stay there again.

The Metropole Hotel

"Very nice and getting better"
Booked the Metropole with some reservation after reading less than glowing reviews. It was wonderful!! I have no idea what the complainers were thinking. Parking was close. Reception was very fast and well done. We are in the bar and found it lively (although in California we NEVER run out of Chardonay!) and the service great. Rooms were comfy and nice (this former Jury's Inn is under renovation, but old or new the rooms were fine - our group had 3 - two new and one old). Price was good. If you can't find it on your GPS as Metropole try jury's. Breakfast was lovely and our checkout as good as arrival.

"Friendly hotel in a very good location"
Stayed for six days in November. Very friendly staff. Hotel is in an excellent location, with shopping, excellent restaurants and bars with traditional music within an easy walk. Helpfulness and friendliness of staff are much appreciated. Nice swimming pool. Had breakfast every morning - good choice available. Found people in Cork very friendly, and much pride taken in the fresh food that restaurants get from the English Market. Hotel has a useful interactive display of what's on in Cork - we went for trad music every evening - always something close at hand. Sorry, Ireland, but for those of us that earn money in sterling, pretty good value due to the strength of the pound against the euro too!

"Ideal location. "
We were here for a funeral and had to stay two nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have is that at breakfast there were no separate utensils for the bacon and sausages. I have coeliac disease disease so my food was cross contaminated . However I really appreciated the gluten free toast! I will definitely stay again

"Nice hotel"
Hotel was clean, quiet and convenient for St Fin Barre. About a ten minute walk to Grand Parade and St Patricks street, which seemed longer after a very enjoyable night out.
