"Melanie and Steve were such wonderful hosts at this spacious property in Pahoa! Melanie was incredible communicative and responsive, and Steve dropped by periodically to ensure we were doing okay or whether we needed anything. The space itself is very large - it could easily accommodate parents and two kids. It is a quaint, Hawaiian themed place that you can tell has been decorated with great care and shone with personality! It is about a half hour drive to Hilo and an hour to Volcanoes National...

"Location and ocean view was FANTASTIC. While it's not a 5-star/ $1000 per night hotel, it has everything you would need/ expect from an excellent beach house. We were only a group of 2, but the house easily could accommodate 6 people. Great jumping off point to see sites on this side of the island (Hilo, Volcano, towns that existed a few years ago but then were taken by lava). "Unfortunately for us there was a band/choir highschool gathering. Loud kids, took over the pool area. Stayed up late partying and as we were on the ground floor we were keep awake from noise above until after midnight. They should have been staged in a separate area. Ugh"

The grounds are absolutely beautiful, we never had an issue finding chairs at the pool, loved snorkeling in the cove, and enjoyed seeing the sea turtles every morning while drinking our coffee. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. The only downside is the food wasn’t as tasty as we hoped it’d be however, having the shuttle service came in handy so we could try other restaurants nearby. "

Another inconvenience is that we found out the hotel did not provide shampoo, conditioner or body wash even for short stay guests.
