COVID-19 has changed how we travel, but it hasn't done away with our enthusiasm for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to handle the new challenges of travelling:

• Find out the restrictions and rules in both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check in advance.
• When you pass through airport screening, keep your face mask on. You will be asked to briefly lower it to verify your identity. Travellers who refuse to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the terminal.
• To avoid cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA agent.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on luggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag for X-ray scanning.
• To minimize handling during screening, put items such as your phone and loose change into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA officer will need to open your bag for inspection.
