"I would say the amenities were good and the breakfast was delicious. Overall a pleasant hotel House keeping were friendly however I feel like the front of house staff could be more attentive and welcoming. For the price I paid I feel like I should have got better service. For example, when asking for water for my room it felt like I was asking for too much. They also don’t take your luggage to your room when checking and downstairs when checking out - For a 5 star hotel, that’s the least I would expect."

"It's all about the pool and the very pretty garden . The villa is rustic and full of character but could do with a bit of an upgrade in certain areas. Very quiet and peaceful location . Eulailia is just great and very helpful. The driveway is not suitable for any other than a small car . Beautiful area authentic and traditional."

"Excellent Family holiday staying at Penina. Relaxing hotel with friendly helpful staff. Warm welcome on arrival with a glass of port and overview of the hotel. Really nice way to start our stay. Great facilities for kids and adults with tennis courts, jogging track, driving range, golf courses, large pool and multiple dining options. Played Championship course twice and enjoyed - greens, tees and fairways all in good order and great value for money. My son and I also had excellent golf lessons with Jose Lourenco - knowledgeable, friendly, genuine passion for what he does. All golf staff were excellent, really welcoming and friendly. Special shout out to Sandra, Carlos and Vasco. Excellent breakfast buffet and omelette station, the Italian restaurant, Cotton Clubhouse bar and the pool bar all good too. In all areas the service was very good and were brilliant with my sons (11 and 5) Great bonus having access to the Dunas beach club at Alvor beach with 50% discount on sun loungers and umbrella ( €10 for 1/2 day) and free towels, private beach bar also excellent. Easy 10 minute commute to Alvor, which is a really nice coastal town with cobbled streets, and an excellent range of restaurants. Would definitely recommend this hotel if staying in the area due to facilities, service and easy commute to Alvor. Thank you all at Penina!"

"The room is spacious and has lovely views. Unfortunately; it was not as clean as we had expected. The resort is lovely but tired and in need of maintenance and touch ups. I would definitely rate it as four stars, not five. The staff are lovely."

"La villa est très fonctionnelle et bien équipée, le plain pied est appréciable. Le 2eme réfrigérateur dans le cellier est un vrai plus. L’hôte est joignable facilement et très réactif. Il se soucie du bien être des vacanciers. L’espace extérieur est vraiment agréable, sans aucun vis à vis et au calme. Les chambres sont très spacieuses. Nous avons passé des moments familiaux fort agréables."

"Très bon accueil en personne de Roger. Il a répondu à nos demandes ou à nos questions avec gentillesse et enthousiasme malgré notre mauvais anglais. L'appartement est très confortable, très bien situé sur la côte. Le balcon, la piscine et la climatisation sont un vrai plus pour la localisation . On recommande !"

"Nous avons eu la chance de séjourner dans cette villa pendant près de 5 semaines en juillet 2026. Pour une bonne partie du temps, nous avons profité des installations avec nos enfants, leurs conjoints et nos petits enfants. Avec ses 6 chambres, chacune équipée de sa salle de bain complète, de la climatisation et, pour presque chacune d’entre elles, d’un accès extérieur, cette villa a complètement satisfait les besoins des uns et des autres.Le terrain est immense et les alentours de la villa offrent une grande variété d’aires de repos. La piscine est superbe et les chaises ne manquent pas. Et que dire de cette immense terrasse adjacente avec une table pouvant accueillir facilement 16 personnes.Notre sympathique hôte, Jaime, est très disponible et de bon conseil.Le cueillette sur le terrain d’oranges, de citrons et de limes tout au cours de notre séjour, ainsi que la récolte quotidienne des œufs des trois poules de la propriété à été une activité très appréciée des plus jeunes et a aussi agrémenté nos repas.De nombreux sites et villages à visiter sont à moins d’une 1/2 heure de la propriété et plusieurs commerces d’alimentation et autres sont situés à moins de 10 minutes en voiture.Ce séjour a été marquant pour nous tous."
