My wife and I recently stayed in this beautiful and tremendously comfortable and cozy townhome in Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland, in southwestern Ireland. First, Stoneybrough as it is called by its owner, is located on a dead end street so there is little traffic. The property is exactly as depicted in the photo and demonstrates the beautiful setting along this babbling stream that runs past the expansive deck that is along the entire back of the unit. The stream presents a wonderful constant sound of running water that provides a tranquil background that, with the windows cracked at night, put me to sleep immediately. The unit is particularly well equipped and everything worked perfectly. Everything needed to make you feel at home is there. (I particularly enjoyed the Jamison's in the Waterford decanter provided by the owner.) There is a spacious, cozy and tastefully decorated living room with an electric fireplace. I especially enjoyed the dining room/den area that sported a gas fireplace. My wife and I particularly enjoyed sitting by it after a long day of sightseeing enjoying a glass of wine and reliving out adventures of the day. The kitchen is very well equipped. My wife, a brilliant home chef, was impressed that it had everything she needed to prepare the perfect meal. The master bedroom was en suite and also very cozy. The bed was extremely comfortable. As for location, as I said, it is on a quite dead end street but is only steps from a bustling and vibrant downtown of Kenmare. Bars, restaurants and shops abound. Some of the restaurants at which we dined were wonderful, among them being Tom Crean Seafood and Wine and Packie's, both only a short walk away. We had a particularly enjoyable and lively night at Coachman's Pub where live Irish music was played to a packed house.Another interesting area walking distance from the townhouse was a beautiful park along Kenmare Bay near a golf course and Park Hotel Kenmare. Also, convenient was the private off street parking place provided. I do recommend a car since many of the beautiful and interesting sights you will want to see in the area are best reached by automobile. Finally, having travelled extensively in Europe, I have to say this rental has been one of the best, if not the best, accommodation we have ever rented. If you are ever in the southwest of Ireland and plan to stay a while, this place is a must. You won't regret it. Thank you JS for letting us live in your beautiful home.
