"Clean hotel with friendly and welcoming reception staff, however the breakfast room experience was deeply disappointing.
Whilst I stepped out briefly to take a phone call, staff cleared my daughter's plate despite being able to clearly see she had not finished and was returning to the table (this was at 9.15am). At 9:28am minutes before the advertised end of breakfast service of 9.30am, she was refused toast and told it was too late.
If breakfast is served until 9:30am, guests should be able to obtain their food until that time and be able to finish it. Actively clearing plates from unfinished diners and ushering everyone out of the room on the dot is unacceptable. I have no issue with staff preventing new food from being taken after the cut-off point but not before and guests who have already been served should be allowed to finish their meal in peace.
This behaviour, particularly towards a young person whom they picked on because I had to leave the room to take a works call
was completely unnecessary and left a very poor impression of an otherwise decent hotel."
