Everything about our stay was great, except for two key issues:
1. Noise. I have noticed other reviews also mention this, so at least I know it's not just me. I don't know why other guests felt the constant need to move around their furniture late at night, but this kept happening. An easy solution would be to stick soft toppers to the legs of furniture to ensure they don't scrape against the marble floors when they have to be moved. It was extremely annoying to have to hear whilst trying to get to sleep (and I was wearing ear plugs!). Another related issue was the extreme noise and rowdiness coming from the room next door. Not what I would expect from such an exclusive hotel. I was told I should've called reception but I doubt they would've been able to forcibly remove them (I had to tell them to shut up at around 5:20am).
2. Cleanliness. I cannot believe I'm saying this, but after a day out, we came back to our room to find not one but two dirty, wet cleaning mops: one on the sink, one on the table under the TV. This is shocking, especially during Covid times. We had to pick them both up and chuck them into the bin, using some toilet paper. When I mentioned this at reception, all they did was apologise, which frankly felt a bit deflating. A 5*GL hotel should be doing more in this regard, esp. from a key health and safety point of view. Mistakes happen, I get it, but at least offer something back or try to understand how shocking it is to find dirty rags in one's room!
