very pleasant, second room was sufficient however no kitchen or microwave, but we managed to make the best of the room. Next time we shall see about pre booking a room before we return. Room 405 was not exactly what we had in mind for the price we paid for 6 days.
The staff at Ember Locke were wonderful. Michael at guest services and Lucinda at the bar were extremely friendly and helpful. They made us feel very at home from the start. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are very well designed aesthetically and functionally. We hope to come back again soon!
artistically decorated, cool vibes, friendly, helpful staff. many relaxing places to sit, with a an eclectic music playlist in the background. There’s a coffee shop, bar and restaurant on premsis. Will definitely stay here again. subway approximately 3 short blocks with a variety of ethnic restaurants
This property is a work of art and absolutely beautiful and vibrant and fun. However the staff weren’t overly helpful, our safe didn’t work for the full 5 nights we stayed despite asking to have it fixed and being told several times it would be, the maintenance guy came and looked at it once said he would be back and never returned. We let the staff know and nothing changed. Our shower water wasn’t draining and the same maintenance guy came up and merely took off the metal piece of the top then left. Clearly hair was clogged but that wasn’t fixed either. We felt like for the price of the hotel the service should have been a lot better, at least responding to concerns and requests in a timely manner. Additionally there was an odd mildew smell in the room and halls. The common areas were always packed with visitors of the cafe and we could never enjoy those amenities as guests as locals were always using the seating areas to work and have events.
Overall disappointed and wouldn’t come back at this point, unfortunate because of how beautiful it looked.
Beautiful hotel with unique details in every inch of the hotel. Rooms were nice and clean. Hotel staff was wonderful and accommodating. Close walk to tube and pubs set in an old upscale neighborhood.
I stayed here in Kensington for 10 days for work and research. It was a lovely stay and I’m grateful to the team at Ember Loch for for being so hospitable with a beverage of choice at the end of the day, answering questions about local happenings, or helping to print last-minute documents for meetings. This is a very convenient place for work related travel. It is eclectic and low-key, but the staff really shine and are extremely accommodating.
Charming hotel with well-appointed furnishings. Cafe was comfortable and served high quality pastries and coffees. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming
