George and Dragon Clifton

"Delightful visit to The George and Dragon! Friendly and obliging staff, great pub, room and breakfast. Rooms renovated to a high standard and beautifully furnished. Loved the windows which could be opened to cool the room and bonus bath to relax in. Friendly bar staff when we had a drink in the pub before bed and lovely lady served us at breakfast. Really impressed and highly recommend a stay. 10/10"

North Lakes Hotel And Spa

"I was upgraded to one if the newly refurbished suites. The room was spotlessly clean, stylish and fresh, comfortable and spacious, with nice little extra finishing. I would definitely recommend the suite (budget permitting, as the quality of the room is reflected in price) for those spending a lot of time in the room. I was mostly looking to spend my time to de stress, relax and rest. Superior rooms are also spacious and comfortable, although as far as I know, are mostly unique, i have noticed some aren’t as well equipped than others. Although, all suitable if you are going out and about more, I find they are the best value for money. The smaller rooms are lovely for a one night stay or if travelling light. I recommend making use of the spa facilities and well equipped gym. Both are clean, with all the main equipment and facilities. You can pay for treatments as extra. I have tried out a few massages, which were great for sleep and recovery from gym workouts! The staff are what makes this hotel really stand out from the rest. I cannot speak highly enough of the girls at reception, management team, and housekeeping staff. Customer service is extremely important to me, and nothing was a problem for the aforementioned staff, they made me feel comfortable, listened to and a valued returning guest. They are friendly, professional and polite. Certain staff at the pool/spa are also lovely, helpful and friendly. The bar staff were a slight let down, being fair, they were very busy."

"This was a short holiday for my husband and me, and our adult children. We had cosy fires every evening and some nice meals in the dining room and the area. Plenty of walks, plenty of shops in Penrith for buying supplies. Very clean and well equipped cottage. Thoughtfully decorated. Very quiet area. We will be back I am sure."

"The two of us stayed a week in August 2024. The house is obviously spacious for two! But it was also comfortable and well equipped and well away from roads so also very quiet. It was close enough to Lakeland for us to easily get to walks on the Northern and Far Eastern fells. It was close to Penrith, which we liked a lot, for shopping. And handy for the A6, A66 and M6. We rate Bumblebee Nook highly and would stay there again."

"A lovely cozy cabin, well equipped and with the benefit of a mystery to solve, where the secret cutlery drawer was hidden, we failed and had to ring Lisa to tell us where it was. ðŸ˜‚. The cabin was lovely and the large enclosed garden was fabulous for the dogs.It was clean and bed was really comfy. Log fire was lovely and an ample supply of logs to use. The location was quiet and peaceful but near to towns for supplies and eating out. The jacuzzi bath was an added luxury. Okay the showers arenâ€™t great but adequate. The heating system is storage heaters and doesnâ€™t suit everybody who like to have total control of the heating but we found it fine and the cabin was naturally warm and we even turned the heating off some nights. All in all we had a lovely week in a lovely comfortable well equipped cabin that we would definitely return to. The owners have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to ensure guests have everything they need and have a great holiday. Thank you for a lovely week."
