Absolutely gorgeous hotel, the room was beautiful, the buffet breakfast was the best we've ever had. The only disappointment was the bar staff, plenty of staff but they just didn't seem to be bothered, took 10 minutes before they acknowledged we were there, seemed like they were put out by us being there. Other than that a great stay and we'll be back soon.

A very friendly welcome on check in, room was lovely & spacious, the Elemis products were a treat. Very central to walk to bars, restaurants & shops. Would definitely stay again.

The amenities were all up to par ans staff who operated said amenities were all really friendly and easy-going people. Poppy in particular had helped me out a lot over our stay and her work is a testament to the quality of the staff overall.

Great choice for a full service, landmark hotel with character. Our room was enormous with wonderful high ceilings and very quiet. The hotel opened in 1903 so there are naturally a few signs of its age but the rooms and spaces are attentively cared for. Its central location makes everything in walking distance, especially the pedestrian areas of Manchester. The staff were unfailingly helpful and positive. We stayed 3 nights and took full advantage of the large lobby lounge and bar which served coffee/lunch/tea/drinks, dinner. An excellent value for our experience.

Very helpful, friendly staff everywhere. Special mention for Anna on Reception, and Ricardo - thank you. Cleanliness excellent. Bar service excellent. Breakfast - disappointingly average. As with most buffet breakfasts, the food in never really hot. And please - you cannot make decent tea without boiling-hot water. Comfy bed but pillows way too small - super-king bed needs super-king pillows. No instructions in room for air-con. operation.
