I imagine this hotel was once very grand, however its now very tired and a bit shabby. Our room was clean, but theres no air con, and it was quite hot with a very small window. We just had a fan, although the cord wasnt long enough to reach the bed and the fan not powerful enough to be of much use. The shower was nice but the screen too narrow, so the bathroom floor was wet each time we had a shower. The condition of the room was ok, but like the rest of the hotel, tired and finishing touches were not up to scratch. Cleanliness in general was ok, but I noticed a lack of attention to detail, i.e toilets in the restaurant walls and paintwork on doors were dirty, in need of a clean and freshen up. The breakfast was ok, full English and continental, self service. The people working in the hotel, were very pleasant and hard-working. The location of the hotel, is about 15 mins walk from Old Trafford and minutes away from a metro stop, so although not central, it is within easy reach of all the main attractions. The cost of staying at this hotel, through hotels.com was cheaper than if we booked directly and I would say the deal we got was good value, but had I paid more I would not have been happy. All in all, we had a pleasant stay, it just needs some TLC and modernising.
