"I always choose Hotels du Vin above any others, for location, ambience, personnel, comfort, welcome, taste in furnishings, and consistent,amazing cuisine. Should I ever inherit, win, a substantial amount of money I wouldn't desert Hotel du Vin for anything so-called upmarket. I love boutique, loathe big fancy alternatives. York is lovely, Newcastle the favourite....until we visited Glasgow. I'm now torn between these 2. Not so impressed with Edinburgh but that was wholly down to the building; otherwise Edinburgh is fine. If I need an uplift, Hotel du Vin - a meal or stay - ticks all my boxes. Really grateful we have these residences."

"Everything was fine and the property is spacious and nice. Everything was clean and presentable. There was sufficient cutlery and utensils. Getting in was no problem at all. There was always hot water when we needed it. Plenty of space for storage. Two railway stations within walking distance and a bus stop outside. Shops, pubs and take aways all within a few minutes walk."

"The property was generally very good and very convenient for the railway station which we used a lot for travelling to Commonwealth Games venues. I would suggest updating the listing. There was no dishwasher or coffee maker and parking was on street due to the building work next door. Saying that we enjoyed our stay and would consider using again if we’re back in sunny Glasgow."

Learn all you can in the first hours so that you can appreciate the many virtues of this place. Jacqui is quite responsive to questions."
