Downtown Newport

Step into Newport's colonial past in the heart of City centre Newport. Historic Trinity Church's white spire punctuates the skyline above cobblestone Thames Street. Weathered docks and tall ships create an authentic maritime atmosphere around Bowen's and Bannister's Wharves. Harbour views dominate this walkable district where seafood restaurants and nautical shops line the waterfront. Georgian architecture in weathered shingles and white weatherboard maintains the area's historic character. Visit early morning to experience local life before the crowds arrive.

Historic Hill

Historic Hill offers a remarkable glimpse into Newport's colonial past. Cobblestone streets wind past 18th-century weatherboard homes with weathered shingles. The iconic Trinity Church spire rises majestically above America's finest collection of preserved mansions. Explore the International Tennis Hall of Fame or discover Touro Synagogue, America's oldest synagogue. Manicured gardens frame grand doorways adorned with brass knockers and original fanlight windows. Historic house museums and boutique shops occupy charming colonial-era buildings throughout this elegant area.

Bellevue Avenue Historic District

Newport's Bellevue Avenue Historic District transports you to America's Gilded Age with opulent limestone mansions and manicured grounds. The Breakers and Marble House showcase the extravagant wealth of industrial titans through ornate architecture and lavish interiors. Rosecliff and The Elms add to this outdoor museum of American aristocratic heritage. The district balances historical grandeur with coastal beauty along the scenic 3.5-mile Cliff Walk. Explore formal gardens with ocean views or visit the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Upscale dining and boutique shopping complete this refined Newport experience.

The Point

Step back in time as you wander The Point's cobblestone streets lined with America's finest collection of 18th-century buildings. This quiet residential enclave offers an authentic glimpse into Newport's colonial past. Harbour breezes carry salt air while historic homes showcase weathered cedar shingles and white trim. The waterfront setting provides scenic views along Newport Harbour with peaceful walking paths. Though lacking shops or restaurants within its boundaries, The Point's charm lies in its untouched historical character. City centre Newport's amenities are just a short stroll away.

Yachting Village

Newport's Yachting Village dazzles with its harbor-side promenades and stunning maritime views. Gleaming superyachts and sailing vessels create a forest of masts against historic colonial architecture. The cobblestone streets wind past upscale boutiques and fine dining establishments. Thames Street offers world-class shopping and seafood restaurants with harbour views. Visitors can explore maritime museums or admire well-preserved landmarks like St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Ocean Drive Historic District captures Newport's rich nautical heritage while providing scenic coastal beauty.

"The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Clean, amazing views and so central to everything you could imagine in that area (i.e., shops, cafes, restaurants, etc.). Staff and cleaners were super friendly and knowledgeable about any question(s) we had. We really enjoyed our stay and will not only be back soon, but also will be sure to recommend this hotel to any of our family/friends that may be going to Newport! Thank you for an amazing pre-birthday weekend :)"

"Very convenient location with pedestrian access to the harbor shopping, dining, and boating options for sightseeing, tours, and sail. The multi structure inn offers several private bedroom/bath units in separate houses. The staff were friendly and responsive from checkin to checkout. Breakfasts included with the room rate were hearty, cooked to order. The decor is generally period rustic farmhouse. Our bath was usable with some visible maintenance issues. All in all our stay was fully cost effective, clean, convenient, and safe."

"We loved all the lobby space-lots of room for our group to gather. There were low of breakfast items to choose from on the menu. We didn’t like the crowds at the pool, especially when one of the pool staff said some people at the pool were “day guests.” Given the cost of our stay, we don’t think “day guests” should be taking away our pool space and deck chairs!"

"The hotel room was very nice especially if you’re staying a few days. We were only there one night and didn’t have the opportunity to use all of the amenities. Tim at the front desk was very nice nd informative. The location is perfect and the parking was convenient. "The Mill Street Inn was a unique spot with a great location, a few minutes walk to Bellevue or Thames Streets. Our room was more like a suite, had a separate living room and a bedroom. Amenities were great, and there was breakfast that you ordered the night before that they delivered at the time of your choosing.
