The Trinity City Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The Trinity Hotel is centrally located in Dublin, immediately adjacent to Trinity College and only a couple blocks south of the river. Easy access to both buses that stop across the street from the hotel, light rail which is just half a block west of the hotel, and within a couple blocks of one of the main transit stations for the city's commuter rail. The room was clean and well maintained for an older building. The atrium where breakfast and dinner were served was scenic, with a good selection of meal choices. The bar was staffed with knowledgeable bartenders and had an excellent selection. The bar area, nearby lounge, and outside patio were comfortable and well tended. The hotel staff were courteous and knowledgeable, providing excellent directions to nearby amenities, including bank, ATM, and post office. They also arranged our transportation back to the airport at an early hour."

"Property was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Not sure breakfast lives up to $16/$22 per person. This property is in the middle of everything and is quiet UNLESS there is live music in the hotel bar. In that case, expect bass thumping. We were so tired from all the fun & walking that we weren’t bothered by it."

"Clean room, tasty breakfast. Limited and tight carparking spaces. Bar disappointing however. For a city centre bar on a Saturday night, near a major concert venue, to have neither music nor sound on the tv (for a world cup match which was being shown) for those who were staying in the hotel, and those also returning for post concert drinks, is incredibly poor. Also had half of the seating area closed off and cleaned, and only serving customers on one side if the bar. We asked bartenders if we could have some sound on for the match which was on the screens, to be told that the sound couldnt be put on because bar staff cant hear the orders. Never heard the like of it. Either that was a nonsense excuse, or the Clayton need to rethink where the speakers are located in the bar, to allow staff to hear customers at the bar. Very disappointed that we opted to come back to the hotel after the concert instead of going to another pub which had some music and a bit of atmosphere. Recommend Clayton look at this arrangement as many customers near us were also not impressed."
