The room was dingy. The lobby was depressing. The shower was useless. I was quite disappointed and thought the reviews I'd relied on to book this property did not represent it honestly

Dear customer, your rude and agressive comment represents your behaviour throughout your stay. We would have preferred you to have shared your dissatisfaction during your stay. It would have been nice if you had left directly, without spoiling your stay in Nice and without annoying all the staff with your mood swings and agressiveness. Are you referring so much to other guests' comments? Does a hotel rated 8.6 mean that you are more discerning than others? Or simply that our hotel did not suit your needs? There is nothing quallid, horrid or disgusting, there are products/services that suit you or not... this hotel did not suit you. All insults can be avoided. But that doesn't excuse your rudeness and agressiveness!

The room was clean and comfortable. The "city view" was actually a street view. This meant that we couldn't open windows or look outside because we were right on the street in a city. They should differentiate such views. One floor up was the room I expected. A room looking outside on a nice part of Nice. Instead we had cars, people right outside etc... Also having to pay to leave bags after checking out was bizarre and petty. The staff were helpful. The location was central.

We loved our stay at Les Cigales! The front desk was incredibly helpful with outlining the city's walking points at check in and with scheduling early morning taxis for check out. We needed a three person room, and it was perfectly situated for all three of us. Heads up that laundry access is nearby, but not in the actual hotel. A lovely, comfortable hotel that we will return to if we are fortunate enough to return to Nice.

Location and Friendly folks
The people here are amazing in their ability and offers to be of assistance and with great patience across multiple languages. Any question we had from tourism to french phrases was welcomed with a smile and a great deal of care to ensure that we understood. The location of the hotel was ideal for restaurants, sites, and just about 5-6 minute walk to the sea!

If given a ground floor room, ask for a change
My review is for room 4 which happens to be on the ground floor, by the lift and with thin wall in front of reception. I’m pretty sure that if you’re not as unlucky as I was with the room you get this hotel can be great. Location is great and so is the condition of the rooms, although they’re rather small. But in my case my stay was ruined by guests until very late in and out speaking loudly and shouting, gatherings around the lift with guests laughing out loud and talking like if they were in a night club, guests checking in talking like the receptionist was deaf… All this was never stopped by the receptionist telling them to lower their voice, and it could be easily changed by having some posts on the wall saying “mind your voice, respect other guests sleep” around the ground floor and by the lift. The receptionist could also take off the sound of their phone so guests on the ground floor don’t have to hear a ding ding every other minute.

Friendly staff, very knowledgeable and helpful. Staying in the first floor near the door was a bit loud and there’s a minimum volume on the tv that makes it barely loud enough to hear from bed. Bathrooms were clean, but oddly designed and poorly constructed (no door on shower, wobbly sink) GREAT LOCATION…just fine for our fee day stay. :)

Great location and friendly staff in this very clean hotel. My only issue was that the walls were thin and the people next door to me were having a very loud argument one night. That's not the property's fault, but be aware if you stay here that you may hear some noise. Everything else is exceptional.

Great hotel, in central location
My friend and I had a long weekend in Nice and wanted somewhere fairly central that wasn't too expensive. Cigales is in a great location, less than 10 mind to the beach and train station and some nice little cafes close by for breakfast. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was small but quite modern and clean. My only downside is the air-conditioning was a little loud and the maid service in the morning seemed a bit noisy, but I'm quite a light sleeper. Overall it was a great hotel and I would definitely stay there again if I was ever back in Nice!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Hotel les Cigales. Location is excellent close to Metro, Old Niece, the esplanade, restaurants and stores. Concierge was most helpful and provided us direction and excellent restaurant recommendations. Hotel is very charming.

Cute, friendly hotel
This hotel was awesome! The lady at the front desk was very helpful gave me a map of the area with the different shopping districts, food area and of course the beach. She even showed me where everything was in my room. The location is great as well lots of restaurants and markets near the hotel and within 5 mins walking to the beach. Very clean room, kind of small but over all worked out very well!

This small hotel is a 5-10 min walk to the beach and all the shops and restaurants. The room was confortable and i appreciated the existence of an elevator. Breakfast waa good. The only issue is that checkin is very late, at 3, and thus very inconvenient for those traveling through the night and arriving in Nice early in the morning. I would move checkout at 11am and checkin at 12 or 13 at the latest. They also need more personnel. There seemed to be only one cleaning girl for 12 rooms.

The receptionists are really nice. Rooms are clean and bed/pillows super comfortable. Great location too. I wish the double rooms were a bit bigger.

Staff unable to put on air con, room very hot and small had to sleep with windows wide open making very noisy, didn’t help with heavy rain.Website advertises bar, there is no bar facility or lounge for a drink. Location though is excellent for all parts of Nice and staff were pleasant and assistive.

Now that temperaure and sun are back A/C was just turned on. We indeed apology for inconveniances caused by unexpected rain as drinks are served in the roof top terrace. We looked for a place for the night as we had to catch an early flight the next morning. Very friendly staff clean room. The room was a little small but worked out fine. They also provided me with secured parking that worked out very well. Overall very good experience.

Spacious room, friendly and helpful staff. We were provided a map and directions to the beach and other sites to see when we arrived. Veronica escorted us to our room and made sure we had everything we needed. Comfortable and quiet stay in a convenient area. Close to the train and bus lines. Walking distance to beach and shopping.
