This is not a 2.5 stars hotel

This is not a 2.5 stars hotel, and it is not even a hostel. This is a room in an old resident building. The neighbours do not even know that room is a 'hotel room'. There is no any reception, you have to call (or email) the owner so that he would show up and give you the key. The free parking is just parking on street! Stay away this one if you are looking for a hostel/hotel!

Loved our room and the location!

Antonio was so kind and helpful, the room was clean and cute. It was so nice to have a fully equipped kitchen. The location was great.

One night stay for Playa del Carmen activity

I chose this place at the last minute. I did not need much, just a place to crash for the night. Location is 10 min walk up from the ferry landing. Several places for food or snacks are nearby. This is a gated apartment building. Owner Antonio met me to give me the key and show the room. This is not a hotel but a one room efficiency apartment. Steep stairs lead to the second floor which may hamper someone with mobility issues.. The room was neat as can be, it is evident Melissa and Antonio have put a lot of effort to make the room spotless. It contains a bed, night table, dining table for two and stocked kitchen area with small appliances. Kitchen was not used, but could be very useful to prepare meals in an effort to save money. The room is freshly painted. Salt and pepper were not seen- should be added. The bed was comfortable but firm. Bedding lacked a mattress pad, which is absolutely required. Bedding is not too fancy, but worked. The A/C is a window unit that struggles.. It is loud but helped soften the music in the night coming from a nearby bar. I found earplugs useful, which may be a norm for Playa del Carmen. The bathroom was spotless with a large shower. The shower has a hot water booster if needed. The owners have worked hard to make this room efficient and enjoyable. Their efforts are visible but understand what your are getting. Excellent value and I would consider staying here again.
