"Nice hotel"
This hotel was unexpectedly fancy and worth every penny and more and such great value for money. The terrace was lovely especially in 17c sun in February. Little touches such as chocolate left for Valentine's Day were sweet. Breakfast was lovely, no tea or coffee making facilities in room so we ordered from the bar. Don't let the graffiti put you off, that's standard across the board. The area feels safe and has nice bars and a supermarket close by. All sights accessible from 81 bus that runs every 15 minutes. Tickets available in reception. It's a busy bus and I advise to making sure you are aware of your valuables as my wife got her bag stolen but that also happens in most capitol cities. The bus stops off outside the colesseum. I would recommend this hotel, I've thrown a coin in the trevi fountain so when I return I'll definitely be staying here :)

Hotel Marc Aurelio

Via Gregorio XI, 141, Rome - Map
"Good comfortable hotel."
The hotel was modern, clean and the staff was helpful. The free breakfast had a good variety. The neighborhood had good cheap places to eat and shop with mostly local people using them. We really got a taste of Italy by staying here.

Hotel Villa Morgagni

Via G B Morgagni 25, Rome - Map
"Nice hotel near to metro and bus"
Villa Morgagni is nice hotel 2 metro stations from Termini so you can get it easily when you arrive at the airport by train or shuttle bus. Colosseum also a few metro station near with the same line, which is a great spot to start the sightseeing tour. Villa Borghese, Barberini, and Vatican can get with one bus line directly. Our room was on the 2nd floor, not big, but with very nice siècle mood. It was clean and well equipped. We really liked the aloe vera soap. :) The staff was friendly and helpful. On the other hand, we were not impressed by the breakfast offer and quality. The scrambled eggs were the worst I ever was eaten. Oily, unsalty, cold. The boiled eggs were also cold every morning. We really missed vegetables for breakfast, or at least one (tomato/cucumber/paprika etc.). There was only one option from sliced meat, a ham or at least two options supplemented with a salami. Sweet breakfast options were better. Coffee was terrible, which is especially sad when you are in Italy. Last day we noticed, that we can ask a coffee directly from the guy who sometimes appeared from the kitchen, which was much better. So always ask for a coffee from the staff, do not drink that terrible wishy-washy from the thermos! :)
