One of the most famous streets in Rome was the primary setting of Federico Fellini’s classic film La Dolce Vita.

Visit the Capuchin Church of the Immaculate Conception, a 17th-century church with a six-room crypt containing the bones of more than 4,000 monks. See the bones arranged on the walls in various patterns, including crosses and shapes. Notice a large clock made from human vertebrae.

Within a short walk beyond the Porta Pinciana gate, you will find the Villa Borghese public park. Its Bioparco di Roma is a zoological park with many animals, including lions, tigers, zebras and monkeys. Hire a pedicab or rent a bicycle and explore the Villa Borghese and its many historic attractions, including the Globe Theatre Rome and the Borghese Gallery.

Get off the metro at the Barberini stop to emerge outside the Piazza Barberini. This street is known for its luxurious hotels however, less expensive accommodations are available in surrounding districts, including Rione Monti.
