"Very nice, clean room with very helpful staff. Choice of pillows and a very comfortable, clean bed. The room was very warm, no Aircon but a fan was provided. The reception and breakfast room are in a different building, on a different road which was fine as the weather was dry. Buffet breakfast was great with good choice. We also ate in the restaurant for dinner which was also excellent. Staff were all extremely good. Would stay here again."

"Excellent location right in the city centre. I traveled solo for business and a bit of sight-seeing. Close to shopping/restaurants (Gunwharf Quay) and historical attractions. You get what you pay for - it's in an old building with poor ventilation. A few 'old building' smells and humidity lingers in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable, all linens and towels clean and fresh. All staff were extremely pleasant easy to interact with. Nice breakfast at Keppel's Head was included."

"We were so lucky this hotel had a free room on the evening when our overnight ferry was cancelled with only a few hours notice. I had travelled seven hours by train and there hadn’t been a buffet cart on it so by the time I arrived I was thirsty and hungry.The very kind gentleman at reception gave me the bedroom keys , fresh milk for my cuppa tea and some breakfast cereal! The room was great with a fan and very comfy bed. We didn’t have the breakfast as we had to leave at 6 am to catch the new ferry. The free car park was great and secured Portsmouth is a pretty expensive place to stay but we felt we had good value as we do appreciate kindness, clean rooms and a comfy bed! We will be back another time to see the Mary Rose Museum and HMS Victory…. Portsmouth is a great place to learn more about naval history, great shops and Brasserie Blanc for supper was formidable!( a great start to our French holiday)"

"A Lovely Stay in the Heart of Town ❤️ From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Every receptionist spoke really good English, which made everything so easy, and they always greeted us with a lovely smile. 😊 The hotel is in the heart of the town, which is very convenient for exploring and getting around. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was very comfortable, so we had a good night’s sleep. The breakfast was okay and had enough choices to start the day. Overall, we had a lovely stay and really appreciated the warm and friendly service from all the reception staff. I would happily stay here again. 😊"

"Lovely place to stay , comfy room at rear of hotel on ground floor, had a skylight window and electric blind , Staff were lovely, especially Damian and Denny, who were very friendly,and made breakfast and cocktails. Shame the bar wasn’t open after 9pm , we would have used it to relax before turning in for the night. Easy to get to Southsea seafront and walkable to Gunwharf Quay. Enjoyed our short stay. Thank you ."

"The only difficulty is finding reception which was in a small unit at the back of the complex. Once found though everything was perfect. A lovely room, fantastic restaurant opposite, and a very short walk to the Royal Navy Submarines museum, which also has a ferry to the main Portsmouth docks. And most importantly. Parkrun is just 16 minutes drive 🏃‍➡️"

"While born and bred in Pompey for 19 years, I returned to my hometown as a tourist to show a friend around. Therefore, I knew of the Lady Hamilton's excellent location and I was pleasantly surprised that the "partial sea view" from the window was an excellent full view of HMS Warrior-stunning at sunrise. No noise disturbance from the pub or street and stairway means not having to go through pub; didn't drink in pub, as they had run out of London Pride real ale, but a proper local pub if you want the authentic Portsea. The Lady Hamilton is a stones throw from the dockyard (maritime museum) and the range of restuarants at Gunwharf; recommend Giggly Squid and Tap and Tandoori - has lovely vegan options .Also, a delighful 15 minute walk to Old Portsmouth-Spinaker cafe good place for breakfast and opens early. I would definitely stay here again and recommend; very comfortable bed, clean, great shower, location and view! Only thing that would have been a good thing to have in the room is a peg in bathroom for towels, though did have radiator to hang on. Although HMS Victory covered over for renovation, still a fascinating visit and The Mary Rose musuem is out of this world and a must see."
