Honestly, I passed by the listing for this hotel many times in my search. I wasn't sure about a less expensive, older-looking hotel in the city but after you realize that the more expensive hotels are going to charge you $40-50 a night for parking, the more this hotel appeals. I am so glad we took the chance. As others have said, the parking is a little weird and you will definitely not want to drive your huge SUV or minivan unless you are a confident parker. It might take you a few tries to find the underground parking so just trust the hotel staff when they say to do a quick u turn as you exit the lobby parking. The staff was friendly when checking in and out. The room was clean and spacious. There was no fridge, though I believe some rooms have more amenities. The beds were memory foam and very comfortable. Our room was not on the main street so it was quiet and we had a view of the golden gate bridge (in the fog). The best part, for those who are visiting San Francisco as a tourist, the location is perfect. It is close to everything and if you need to take a little break, it is not so far that you can't come back for a while and then head out again without feeling like you are going on a long trek. Had we stayed near the airport, we likely would not have done so much. We would definitely stay here again. Also, as a long-time vegan family of three, there are multiple options for vegan food in the immediate area.
