Such a beautiful resort. Absolutely breathtaking. The staff were all so amazing and helpful. Rome was about 1.5 - 2 hours away by transit but it was so worth it to stay at this resort. Very easy to take the transit. Very authentic Italian and lots of shopping and restaurants near by. This resort is up on a high hill that cars cannot go up so be prepared to walk up a step hill or 2 but worth it!

Great property. Only issue was the bed was a “pull out” couch which was not very comfortable, it was fair. Other than that, everything was wonderful.

Palazzo Catalani Resort was an amazing hotel settled on top of a hill overlooking the quint Italian city streets with amazing views on the Orsini Castle. If you ever wanted to experience what it is like to live like a local Italian in a small city surrounded by ancient buildings, coffee shops and churches, this is the perfect setting. The actual resort covers a large area with breathtaking views from every angle. The rook top garden is especially amazing with gardens and seats everywhere situated with a view of the surrounding area. Pictures do NOT do it justice. The rooms themselves have been remodeled with all the modern amenities but some of the medieval door hardware, wardrobes and styling is straight out of the renaissance. Perfect combination of old and new. We were in Room 7 which was had a living room, dining room/kitchen, with 2 bedrooms (2 twin and 1 queen) with a full shower (no tub) bathroom as well as a ½ bath in the master room. The only issue was parking- BUT as soon as you figured it out it was simple. The public parking lot is less than a 5-minute walk and the steward helps you when you arrive and takes your luggage to your room- just call when you get there. Highly recommend for a piece of authentic Italian living on your vacation.

over all a wonderful stay, especially a walk in the old city. or a cup of latte afterward. only remember to call the hotel to arrange luggages pick up from the street below, since car are not allow to drive up to the hotel.

Remind yourself that the view is worth it.
We were here 13 years ago and loved the place so much we returned at great expense and distance from our other plans. On our return we were pleased to see it was still the same charing place and the views and surrounding city are breathtaking. The problem with nothing changing is stuff like the internet. We still had the same old login setup as 13 years ago, with only 2 devices allowed for snail-speeds, and on the day of our checkout (at midnight), the internet shut off for us completely! The complementary breakfast is a total joke now too. (I added a picture of what they call a buffet breakfast.) You're handed a menu when you are seated where you can purchase eggs, bacon, or anything like that, but at very high prices. (That wasn't the case before and it was very upsetting! It's pointless to call what they include a breakfast at all.) Or bed was a pull-out and that wasn't mentioned in our booking! NOT HAPPY... but as far as pull-outs go, it wasn't too bad. Still... Over $100 for that!?
The view is worth it. But you may have to remind yourself of that from time to time!
Probably the worst free breakfast we've every had in Italy. (Then to had us a overpriced menu for actual food and coffee.)

My wife and I can’t thank the staff at the hotel enough for making our trip wonderful and easy. The town is beautiful and a wonderful jumping off point for exploring the ancient Etruscan landscape. The rooms were clean and wel maintained, the restaurant was fantastic for dinner and the spa was really nice.

Absolutely stunning! What an incredible place to stay! The rooms are beautiful and the views are breathtaking. Definitely enjoy a meal at the on site restaurant. The surrounding town is charming and the people are friendly! This is a must stay!

Exctional hotel - better than some 5 star hotels
The hotel is not so easy to find as it's located in the side streets and you have to walk to it but the lady at reception guided us to the hotel and told us where we can park for free. The hotel is very covid friendly, they are honestly doing everything they can to keep themselves and guests safe. I saw one of the workers walking around sanitizing the whole hotel (from the corridor to the outside area). All employees wear a mask at all times and keep their distance. Everything in the room has been cleaned and put in bags. In my opinion the hotel should be 5 star with exceptional service.

Palazzo Catalani and the sister property located in the building across the cobblestone lane, Palazzo Soriano are exceptional! We lucked out wth weather the first week of February and enjoyed high temps in the 50 degree F all week. Perhaps because of the time of year and lower occupancy, we were provided an upgraded unit and it had 2 bedroms and 2 baths though we booked a 1 bedroom apartment, so muh space! The staff was exceptional and always willing to suggest ideas of places to visit amd they became like friends. Not to be overlooked, the on-site restaraunt was the best place we ate in Italy throughout our 9 day trip. Chef Roberto runs the restaraunt, taking orders, providing recommendations on dishes and then preparing the food himself, and it is truly fantastic and not to be missed! He even makes his own cheeses! Soriano is a very hilly town so be prepared to wal up some steep inclines...but so worth it!!

Palazzo Catalini is a lovely unique place to stay. It is a beautiful old building with a great deal of charm.It is situated in a beautiful countryside location and is peaceful and well managed by a lovely team of people. Restaurant worth a visit. Parking is available nearby but the access to the resort reception is very steep and cobbled.

Lovely hotel in medieval town.
We had an interesting time finding the hotel and car park as the roads in Italy are not always marked. Once we got there, the ever helpful Raul showed us best place to park and delivered our luggage. Room was wonderful and had all that we needed. Great view. Some good restaurants and cafes nearby. Grotto restaurant well worth a visit. Orsini castle with its gramophones took us back to another era. Hotel staff wonderful. Town central to lots of locations. Would come again.

We started with noticing great service, but bad booking-choice when picking the cheaper rooms. Once arrived we got offered to upgrade from fan-equipped top-floor room to an air-con equipped 2 room apartment for 15 EUR per night. The diff was incredible and was totally worth it. Felt like at home, maybe even better :) Great location, great restaurant, a lots of services (not free though). All was great just for extra 15EUR per night. Tips reg restaurants were also great, but once again - the real deal is their own restaurant. Also a great choice of vine selected by chef on behalf of you depending on what you have ordered. For the daily menu you must arrive on time (20:00 sharp). One day we even stayed indoors just to relax - that's how great the room was.

Beautiful area and very comfortable room. Unable to drive up to hotel to drop off luggage due to its location. Cheap parking in nearby garage. Had a hard time finding a local restaurant to eat in every night. Wi fi signal was good but was not free. We had a great stay although the hotel is a little out of the way.

Pure luxury in a charming, hill-town property
This is without a doubt the most luxurious and comfortable suite we've ever stayed in. Jean Paul (at the front desk) said that it had recently been renovated and this money was obviously well-spent. We had a full kitchen, a dining area with a lovely view over the hillside town, and a spacious bathroom. All were immaculately clean. The bed was worth the price of our stay alone - ultra king-size with a premium quality mattress and large, comfortable pillows. If we could give the suite more than 5 stars for comfort, we would. The hotel was also very quiet at night so we had a restful sleep. Staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. We had only two minor issues. One was that my husband bumped his head on the wall that extends over part of the shower. Most likely the shower's been designed to take advantage of natural features of the building, but this makes it a hazard for guests 6 feet or taller who want to move naturally in the shower. Also, it took exceptionally long for the water to become hot (about 5 minutes), which bothered us because quite a lot of cold water is wasted. It's a bit awkward to reach the hotel since you have to climb up a steep hill to reach the front desk. Since the valet is happy to drive your luggage up the hill, though, this isn't really a problem. Also, it gives you a chance to take in the charm of the surrounding town while you walk up.
