Royal Bath Hotel

"This is our 3rd stay at this hotel as the location is ideal for us. We’ve stayed in various different rooms, always with sea view. The rooms are hit and miss, the suite we stayed in was amazing with a huge balcony to enjoy the sun, however the double sea view was very dated and the bathroom in particular needs attention. Breakfast is a decent buffet, the outdoor garden area is lovely to relax in with a drink. Staff were helpful and polite. We always park in the car park down Hinton Road it’s £6:40 for 24hours not the £28 the valet parking at the hotel or the car park in the beach front. Car park is a 5 min walk from hotel."

"Good sized bedroom and ensuite shower always hot and powerful. Lift to all floors which is useful with luggage.. Breakfast available, but we didn't try it. Hotel in a good location if you don't mind a walk through the lovely, well maintained gardens. Hotel does need updating, but that wouldn't stop us staying there again."

"The view of the harbour is why you stay here and it doesn’t disappoint- just stunning. Locals and visitors flock to the outside terrace to enjoy a cocktail overlooking the harbour. We ate at the restaurant and both food and drinks were good but our dinner order was misplaced so we waited 75 minutes between starter and main. As an apology we weren’t charged. The room looked a bit tired and in need of a refurb but it was clean and the bed was comfy. We also had a view of the harbour (free upgrade). Staff was friendly but service is a bit chaotic - the staff lack set routines and need some training. The breakfast was tasty."

"The location can’t be beat - 1min walk to a path leading to the beach for morning swims. Just a few minutes walk to the chain ferry. A lovely outlook with pine trees and sea glimpses. Spacious, light and comfortable. Just a few things like lack of hand soap in bathrooms, balcony and balcony furniture that we needed to clean before using and lack of homely/useful touches like teabags, local maps/books etc made me take off a star. Otherwise we a lovely stay, thank you!"

"Overall our stay was excellent right in the middle of a heatwave. Only niggle was slow water trickle and no hot water to hand basin in bathroom but put up with it as we were only there for 3 nights.Be aware double bed mattress is very soft!"

"Villa Sofia is a wonderful place to stay. Donna is a fantastic host. The beds were super comfy, the kitchen is so well stocked, the house is immaculate and the robes were such a luxurious and unexpected addition.Being able to sit on the terrace and watch my daughter laugh and play on the swings, whilst the sun going down, was really special. We had such a memorable time at Villa Sofia and I would thoroughly recommend it."
