"When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel, it was lovely in the reception area. Sadly though the check-in experience wasn't great. We queued, not a problem, and when it was our turn we were told to scan the QR code and fill in the details. The details asked on this online form were all the same personal details given when booking the room. I had to then spend 5 minutes re-entering my name, address, dob etc etc. Totally pointless and time wasting. Eventually we had the code the receptionist needed to check us in and then we still had to wait while she checked details on her computer!!! The room was lovely and clean, very basic. The bed was comfy, but a second set of pillows would have been nice. Likewise would something to have a drink from. There were no cups/glasses in the room. We had pre booked and paid for breakfast and wish we hadn't. The cooked breakfast consisted of sausages, Quorn sausage, beans, hash browns and hard boiled eggs. 4 items??? Very odd. There were no pastries either. The cereal selection and continental meats and cheeses were far better than the cooked section. Overall I would stay again if we couldn't get somewhere else, but I would not have breakfast and I would hope the check in process could be streamlined and not required a duplicate of my information."

"The room I stayed in was absolutely filthy. Previous guests had clearly been smoking in the room, as the smell of smoke was really strong. We were unable to open the window as it was so high up. The window sill had been used as an ashtray and there were burn marks and ash still visible. The blind couldn't be opened, it was just permanently closed. Assuming in an attempt to hide the window sill. There were holes in either side of the bathroom door, where it had clearly been punched by previous guests. The tap in the sink wasn't fixed properly, and when turned on, the water ran brown! And also there was no hot water. And the TV had clearly been ripped off of the wall at some point, and some attempt was made to fill the hole, but the TV was left leaving on the table with the wall bracket still attached. The carpet was supposed to be yellow and blue geometric style pattern, but it was black. Upon checking in, the staff made no attempt to tell me anything, about how to turn on the hot water, they pointed at a piece of paper with the door code and WiFi password, and that was it. The main door wasn't secure as it was left open several times. And on one occasion through the night someone tried to gain access to our room. Having to listen to people arguing and banging on the front door until the early hours seemed fitting! I was told to have a nice day when checking out though! Thank goodness it was only 1 night! have taken photos for evidence!"

"Me and my friend stayed here for the Comicon at BEC Arena. The hotel was 15 minutes away, which cost about £16 in an Uber. There was parking on the street, and we had no issues finding the address. The landlord is incredibly kind, and super helpful. The landlord truly helped make our stay enjoyable. As well as Adam, the front of house staff. Though me and my friend turned up dressed up as Chucky the Doll, the staff (and the locals) were incredibly friendly and helped us make memories which will last me and my friend a life time. For the pricing, we could not complain at all. Thank you so much for having us, hopefully we will see you again at the next comicon! :) :) :)"

"We arrived at approximately 9pm, slightly later than advised. Although the front door was locked, the manager (I assume) was still there, cleaning. He let us in when I telephoned and kindly carried our case up to the room. The room itself was clean, fresh, well equipped. However, the room was extremely cold on arrival. We were told that the heating would be turned on, but unfortunately the radiator remained cold throughout the entire night. As a result, the room never warmed up. Due to the lack of heating, we were extremely cold and unable to sleep so we packed up and left before 7am, having effectively been unable to make use of the accommodation. While the room itself was of good quality, the failure of the heating meant our stay fell well below a reasonable standard, and represents a disappointing service failure. This was raised with the property but they refused to acknowledge there was an issue. "
