Our host was very welcoming. we’d had really good communication prior to coming and so the dietary needs of my daughters were well catered for. Breakfast was delicious with lovely thick Greek yogurt and fresh fruit and warm flaky croissants. Would definitely stay again.

A great place to stay

A great welcome from Richard and his team. Clean room, comfortable bed and nice shower. Ate the both nights, food was great and the ale well looked after. Will definitely be back

Probaly the best hotel pup in the World

We had a great weekend, warm welcome, Room was beautiful, and service welcoming and superb. Loveley pub downstairs, the food was spectacular, and the wines. I can not recommend enough, we really hope to be back. Fabulous weekend, thankyou Royal Oak and Richard

We stayed only 1 x night and couldn't be happier. The room was very comfortable and appointed. Dinner was delicious with a good choice on the menu, and there was a really nice atmosphere in the pub, which had outside dining available too. The owners were very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent stop over

Great stay albeit an overnight stop, food was great, not a big menu but was ok for us, room was immaculate and the beds were comfy ( soft side ) …. Shower was amazing !!! Staff were superb made us really welcome and nothing was too much trouble at all …. Would definitely stop again for an overnighter

Really lovely

The room was lovely-much better than I’d expected. The staff were very friendly. We had an evening meal and although the menu range was quite limited, I still had trouble choosing and what you are eventually served with is high quality and presented really carefully. The only blot on the copybook was that my Mum, who I was sharing with, was the first to use the toilet and on lifting the lid was greeted by a bowl full of pungent waste. Other than that this was a lovely place to locate ourselves for access to Oulton Park

Wonderful weekend

A lovely 2 night stay. The Royal Oak had everything we needed. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and airy. We appreciated the quiet room as we had early starts at the nearby Oulton Park race circuit. Lovely garden areas too and welcoming and helpful manager. We will make this our hotel of choice when in the area.

Lovely old building, spacious rooms

Room was lovely, spacious , bathroom was spacious and clean. Shower was great. Building is really old so big high ceilings old windows etc . Would definitely stay again. We had breakfast which was great apart from our toast arrived some time after breakfast, seems a bit petty but they weren’t busy and a really simple fix, they also only brought white so I had to go and find someone for some brown. However, the breakfast was nice.
