"Not a great entry way from the carpark, up the sweeping staircase carrying luggage then a fight to get the door open. A beautiful hotel especially the grand vestibule. Great reception staff efficient and friendly. We were in room 359, top floor, (splendid view) which was particularly hot during the May heatwave but room fans were provided. The beautifully refurbished bathroom however was the worst layout we've ever experienced. The door into the generous sized room, clashed with the rather small shower cubicle, which had nowhere to put shower toiletries except the floor. The only other storage area was a small glass shelf over the hand basin in exactly the right forehead cracking position. The strangest was the double toilet roll holder, which was placed just above the toilet cistern thus completely out of reach just when it was needed, unless you are a contortionist. The breakfast serving staff told us that they were tired and they were all obviously fed up, demoralised even, but the breakfast was great."

"I had a very disappointing experience at this property. Upon arrival for check-in, we discovered that another guest had been booked into the same accommodation. As a result, we were left waiting outside the property for approximately two hours with no clear information or assistance. What made the situation even more frustrating was that once the host became aware of the issue, she stopped answering phone calls and was difficult to reach. We were left without support during a stressful situation that was entirely outside of our control. While mistakes can happen, the lack of communication and failure to promptly resolve the issue was unacceptable. I would not recommend this property to anyone looking for a reliable and well-managed stay. Thanks to another lady of different booking app who found us a solution!!"

"The hotel is situated in a residential area close to the seafront and within walking distance to good restaurants and pubs. The rooms are tight for two people with luggage and there are no lifts. There are a few properties associated with the hotel so I can only comment on the one beside the cabin garden restaurant that is part of the hotel and where we were located. The rooms are clean, the bed for two people was small. The doors in this building, unless people are considerate and close them properly, are constantly banging every time someone closes them as they just let them go consequently they slam which then vibrates throughout all the rooms as walls and floors are not very soundproof. We had a family with children staying above us and the noise was dreadful. That’s not the hotels fault but smart positioning of guests could have avoided it. Breakfast is a buffet and is fine. Parking was easily found and the hotel provided a sign that allowed us free parking. Staff were very friendly and the lady who checked us in helped with our cases which was a nice touch. As there are so many houses and hotel rooms so tightly consolidated close together you do hear people coming and going, neighbours talking all night outside, movement of people above you and as mentioned doors slamming shut be it room or staff doors. Neighbour noises might be different on a cold night as they would not be outside but we hit warm weather and it was the opposite situation."

"Fabulous family stay! Great two roomed suite, which fitted our 9, 6 and 3 year old (on a z-bed) wonderfully. The breakfast was very tasty and the staff were attentive. Luxury feel to the furnishings. Noise from the bar below was a little intrusive and might disturb if you are a light sleeper."

"The staff are good and the hotel is clean. But if you want a decent room which isn't for a hamster, if you want any sort of air con or a fridge then this isn't for you. You need to make more obvious. Pet friendly sort of they let you in and them in the room, not really anywhere for them to go to the toilet and no air con not good for them.."
