"We were given a free upgrade to a river view room, which was an expected delight as we could sit on the bed and gaze at York Minster! The room was warm (it was snowing outside), well-appointed and clean. On guest safety, the hotel scored big points as the lift was only operational by using the room keycard and fire escape route was clearly marked on the reverse. I could relax and enjoy my stay. "

"The room was lovely and clean. Staff were all friendly and helpful, even when we checked out the receptionist asked if there was anything else we would like help with. I thought this was a very thoughtful and nice thing to ask. The bar area was airy and well laid out and the drinks were reasonably priced."

"Warm, welcoming staff who go out of their way to correct any and all concerns Very cute rooms, warm and cozy, nicely decorated. Clean, modern bathrooms. Great neighborhood, easy walk to the city center, easy for Uber rides, and some phenomenal restaurants only steps away: Chinese noodle soups, coffee/bakeries, and the Rose and Crown tavern, which has the best meat pies, Sunday roast and sticky toffee pudding ive had yet in England. Highly recommend this hotel."

"Beautiful hotel, very good customer service. Only downside was the breakfast. We were charged £17 per person for a pretty lacklustre offering. My husband requested pancakes which were on the menu for an additional £2.50, so we were expecting a spectacular stack as a result; what he got was a couple of shop bought small pancakes to go with a very dry sausage and one rasher of bacon. Given that everything else was top-notch in the hotel, we feel they should perhaps review their breakfast and invest in some local specialities for the price charged - and definitely not charge extra for a couple of floppy pancakes."

"Rooms were insane, not Thor the faint hearted mind as very dark but really funky it your looking for something different. Perfect t location, Pink venue was stunning too. Would love to come back and check out the hot tub room next"
