Arrive at the historic birthplace of the British passenger ship that sank in 1912 and learn about its tragic voyage.

The Titanic Belfast is a large complex, with the appearance of a gleaming iceberg rising above the skyline near the River Lagan. It tells the story of the RMS Titanic, which sank on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York in 1912. Learn the true story of the ship that inspired a 1997 Oscar-winning movie.

Purchase an audio guide for context as you stroll through the museum. Take the Discovery Tour to find out about the symbolic design of the Titanic Belfast building. The tour explores the offices where the ship was designed and the dockyards.

Visit the nine interactive galleries of the Titanic Experience, which includes displays about Belfast in the early 20th century and the launch of the Titanic. Watch short films about the aftermath and reaction to the sinking boat. Take the Shipyard Ride to recreate the shipbuilding setting of the early 1900s.

Slipways where the Titanic and another ship, the Olympic, were built surround the site. Stroll along the Titanic Memorial Garden and note the timber decking that honors the more than 1,500 passengers and crew members who died. See the list of names of victims on vertical glass panels. Trace the LED sketch that shows the true size of the enormous vessel.

Peruse clothing, souvenirs and memorabilia in the site’s gift shop. Plan a wedding or business conference at the impressive site. Understand the complete history of the sunken vessel at the Titanic Exhibition Centre, Titanic’s Dock and Pump-House and the Titanic Walking Tours.

Visit the site on any day year-round between morning and late afternoon. It is open several hours longer on summer days and closes for a few dates around Christmas Day. There is a fee to enter, with a discount for kids. Toddlers enter for free. Wi-Fi is available.

The Titanic Belfast is 1.5 miles (2 kilometers) northeast of the city center. It is on the eastern flank of the River Lagan in the Titanic Quarter. Nearby highlights include the SSE Arena Belfast, Victoria Park and the railway stations of Yorkgate and Titanic Quarter. If you are driving, park your car in the underground lot.
