The town is best known for The Rose of Tralee, an annual international festival that takes place in the town every year. What is more, the Tralee Town Park has a glass wall with the names of all the contestants of the festival written on it. With Tralee hosting this famous festival, the town has become accustomed to welcoming thousands of visitors from all over the world and, as a result, can be a very welcoming and hospitable place to visit.

For those seeking cultural and historical experiences, the Kerry Museum houses several exhibition spaces that bring to life Tralee throughout the different ages, including: the ins and outs of Tralee in 1450, the prehistoric to Viking ages, and 1950s – 70s Ireland. There is the Siamsa Tire (translated from Gaelic Irish to English as the ‘mirth and music of the land’), The National Folk Theatre of Ireland, a theatre based within Tralee Town Park, where traditional Irish dance, song, music and drama are performed regularly. The theatre’s authentic traditional Irish experiences draw in locals and visitors to Tralee.

In addition to cultural events, Tralee also offers great indoor activities, including The Playdium, Kerry’s largest indoor kids’ play area, Harmony Leisure Club, a leisure facility based at Manor West Hotel, Bowling Buddies, a tenpin bowling centre, and Kingdom Greyhound Stadium, a greyhound-racing venue.

Just outside of Tralee Town is Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre, a natural reserve that spans 3,000 hectares. A boat ride is available to take visitors through the area.
