The Flat NYC
10/10 Excellent
"I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The rooms are very clean, nice bedding, great area, staff very friendly, great coffee. I was on one of the higher floors which if you’re not particularly fit could be an issue but for me it wasn’t.
The only “complaint” is they use a really highly scented detergent for sheets & towels & I’m very allergic to fragrance so I would recommend going lighter on that but overall this is absolutely fantastic place to stay for the price "
"There many positive elements to Hotel Stanford. The room size is definitely larger than most NYC hotel room in this price range. It has been renovated not too long ago and the improvements definitely show. The bed was super comfortable. They provide complementary bkfast and coffee in their 2nd fl lounge, which is quite comfortable. I did couple of zoom meetings at the lounge and it was good. The front desk staff was so helpful in helping us to check in early as we arrived after a red eye flight. Kudos definitely to the staff.
Here are a few things that should be improved. 1. There is no electricity al outlet by the bed. It is impossible to charge your phone and use it in bed. 2. The thermometer is not very responsive. My room was either cold or stuffy. There is no middle ground. Our son's room did not have any cold air. After 2 days, we made a room change request and they moved our son's to a junior suite. Very well done. 3. As you go higher in the floor (we were on 12th floor...top floor), the water pressure goes down. I think it's due to the old buildings in NYC. Next time, I d e finite will be staying in a suite on the 2nd floor.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Stanford hotel as described above and certainly recommend this hotel. Finally, this hotel is located in heart of Manhattan Koreatown and the mid town location is soooo wonderfully accessible for wonderful Asian cuisine and short subway rides away from Central Park and the museum row."
"I had a fantastic experience with Public. Air Canada went on strike and only a few us arrived. We booked a suite and they accommodated us to a smaller room and refunded us for the bigger one. Unfortunately the first night, there were a couple fighting the room right next to us. And we told the hotel, they upgraded us to a nicer room the next day and also compensated us for the night before. And I had to stay one extra night and they just let me stay in the same room for a basic room price. Overall the staff were so friendly and I really enjoyed my time there. 5 star! And I will come back again. The only thing is at the restaurant below. The restaurant wasn’t super clean, it had hair on the couches. It doesn’t seem like they do a through clean of the breakfast restaurant. "
"I wanted my daughter’s first trip to NYC to be memorable - and that included where we stayed - so The New Yorker was perfect! It was just what we had hoped for - a piece of history but with all the modern conveniences!
It was also a short walk from the train station when we arrived, we were able to check in easily and felt safe the entire time!
We walked to many attractions and even caught some Ubers very easily!
Highly recommend for a memorable experience!!!"
