"Don’t get me wrong, the suite was just wonderful. The room I booked overlooked the sea and I slept to the sound of waves. Gorgeous. The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 1 for the staff was the young man who checked me in first night. He was absolutely lovely!! They need to just have him and him alone at the front desk. The cleaning crew were also very nice and greeted me when they saw me, they were way nicer than the rest of the front staff. Not that they were rude or anything but not warm either. Maybe it’s a Cretan thing because that’s exactly how most people were around the island. One of the staff even asked me if I was staying there when I made an inquiry regarding breakfast!! I’m sure the hotel has a reason for this but I know what that question meant. Overall, the hotel itself is absolutely lovely and right by the water!"

"Excellent hotel directly opposite the beach. Had a sea view which was lovely. Quite a basic small hotel but very clean, basic breakfast offered. Staff all very friendly and helpful. I liked the location directly opposite the beach, there are no Sun loungers but hotel will provide a beach towel but it’s quiet and not touristy. A few lovely restaurants & supermarket all within 10mins walk and the main town 20/25 mins walk away. Hotel has a small pool. Bus station is 10mins walk if you wanted to travel around."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Villa. It is within a smaller town right outside of Rethymno that has a few wonderful restaurants and bakeries, all within walking distance of the Villa. We took a day trip into Chania one day and it was an easy, beautiful drive. The Villa itself is comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Our hosts were so hospitable and very easy to communicate with. I would recommend staying here for your time in Crete!"

"The room was very pleasant and clean. Loved having a clothes washing machine. The only thing I can say is the location is definitely not in the “old town”. It is about a 25 minute walk into the beauty of the town. Disappointed that we did not have a very good view of the sea as advertised. None the less, The room was clean, quiet and comfortable bed."

"We stayed at Knossos Estate Villa in Rethymno for two weeks to celebrate my 30th birthday with the whole family, and we had a brilliant time!Communication from the villa host was excellent throughout, and everyone was really happy with the villa. It was very clean, with fresh towels changed on Wednesdays and a full clean after our first week, which was really appreciated.The pool area was a big highlight, plenty of space for everyone to relax, play and enjoy the sunshine. Having breakfast provided every morning was also an amazing perk and made the mornings so much easier with a big family!There’s a lovely little bakery just a short walk away, and Lidl is only around a 5-minute taxi ride. There isn’t a huge amount within comfortable walking distance, especially with children, so we generally took taxis into Rethymno Old Town and the beach areas, usually costing around 12–20 depending on where we were heading.There were just a couple of small maintenance tweaks that would improve things further, such as some of the shower heads needing to be fixed more securely to the walls, but these were minor compared with the overall experience.We had such a lovely two weeks, made some brilliant family memories and had a fantastic 30th birthday trip. We’d definitely visit Crete again after this experience! "

"A fantastic stay. It was so smooth and easy to navigate. We couldn’t have asked for better help. A few things that would improve the villa:- a lockbox on the outside of the house (door is only accessible via key once shut)- the showers need to have hooks to hang or washing your hair is difficult. We would definitely come back, thank you!"
