"The Whalebone Arch was clean and comfortable, with seaviews from some rooms ,the only contact with the owners was by text, it was informative and the instructions easy to follow.Thank you Emma . The hotel is situated just outside of Whitby town centre , its walkable, but there are buses if needed, or taxis which are approximately £5 each way . We enjoyed our stay there . Car parking is a good plus too "

"Excellent family run ‘traditional’ hotel situated in West Cliff area of Whitby; approx 15 minute walk to harbour area; rooms clean and roomy with lots of ‘accessories’; bed comfortable; good cooked breakfast with other options; attentive but not intrusive staff; dedicated parking area across the road - ‘first come first served’ but plenty of spaces; evening dinner available - good food and multiple options; overall excellent choice for a short stay"

"Had a great stay at the Royal Whitby. Wonderful views of the abbey and harbour. Easy to walk to the harbour and the abbey if you want to try the 199 steps. Lots of great seafood restaurants nearby. A stop in the Whitby tour bus outside too, which will take you to the abbey if you don't fancy the walk"

"The riviera is in the perfect location, 5 mins to the harbour, but nice and quiet.The hotel room was spotless , of a generous size with an amazing view overlooking the sea. The owners were very welcoming and the breakfast was faultless along with the service which was exceptional. It was our first time here, we will be back definitely, this should be a go to stop for anyone visiting Whitby, thank you."

"When we got there we discovered it was about 5miles from Whitby centre which meant we couldn't go anywhere and have a meal and drink because we would have to drive back. So we found a hotel in Whitby town centre "

"Lovely cottage. Only moments from the harbour, and seconds from a micro-pub! Great! Scratchcard parking provided for "W Zone", so all good. Plenty of living room seating, dining table, and a real fire (but we had no need to light it). Very comfy bed, large bath with shower"
