"We really enjoyed our time at the Catalonia Royal Tulum. Our expectation for this 4 day trip to the area was to relax and enjoy the time at the beach. This is exactly what we did. Everyone from check in, wait staff, bar tenders, room service and stewards where friendly, polite and went above and beyond. The grounds are well kept and clean. "We were in The Reef in 2016 and there are a lot of improvements since then. The palm trees on the beach got bigger over time and combining them with the umbrellas there is a lot of shade all day long for those who like to hide from Sun. "Great boutique resort. Very clean, staff was attentive and awesome. Location is close to many popular destinations for dining like Rockas and El Fogon or beach locations like Mamitas. "The resort was really beautiful. The staff are really nice. The only issue I had was I got bit by something on the bed like I have like 10 to 12 big lumps on my hands and we noticed every time we close our room door when we’re leaving when we come back, it smells like poop. My vices don’t stay on the first floor maybe go up but overall the resort is really nice and also it’s far away from a lot of things and they don’t suggest or have any package deal to take you anywhere."
