We booked a Deluxe Queen Room, we didn’t seem to get that, due to late check in, it would appear that we got allocated some form of accessible room which wasn’t what we booked, this meant that our bathroom was a wet room and really not what we wanted at all, the entire floor of the bathroom got soaked each time the shower was used, the Air con in the room didn’t seem to work properly. Possibly should have addressed this with the hotel directly but we only used it for sleeping but upon reflection it wasn’t a great experience, only silver lining was that the hotel was heavily discounted on Expedia compared to usual price, I’d of been very unhappy had we paid full price for the room.

Loved the location access to several towns, tube, bus and walking distance to several restaurants. Great gym, restaurant and friendly staff.

The Savoy is an indulgence that is worth every penny! The staff is amazing. They make you feel comfortable within the luxury of this iconic hotel. Every little detail of the hotel is impeccable from the design to the service. We had told them we were celebrating a special anniversary and found champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting in our room for us upon our arrival! Our room was newly renovated and the bathroom was especially well designed. We opted for having breakfast included in our stay. All menu items were available to us and it was easy to order within the allotted amount. We also took advantage of their gorgeous indoor pool. What a treat! We are avid theatre goers, so the proximity to walking to theatres, including the National Theatre, was a bonus. We can't wait until our next special anniversary to stay at The Savoy again!

11 Jul '26: Hotel itself was pleasant, clean and comfortable, and the staff we dealt with were kind and clearly doing their best in what must have been a very stressful situation for them. Location for O2 is good, water taxi stops outside. Unfortunately, our stay was badly disrupted by the fire alarm sounding repeatedly throughout the afternoon and night, around seven or eight times, continuing until approximately 3am. We completely understand that safety procedures must be followed, and that the staff on duty may not have been able to control the fault itself. What has been most disappointing is what happened afterwards. We were promised a full refund because we were unable to sleep or properly use the room. More than two weeks later, despite three calls to reception and follow-up emails, we have received neither the refund nor any meaningful communication confirming when it will be processed. For a hotel marketed as five-star, I would expect a much stronger level of follow-up, communication and ownership. In my view, the hotel felt closer to a four-star property than a true five-star experience. We have allowed 2 weeks due the change over to IHG, but this now feels more like an excuse. The staff were lovely and deserve credit for how they handled a difficult night. However, the ongoing silence over the promised refund has left a very poor final impression. Chose not to eat at the hotel: £30pp for breakfast. Recommend Brother Marcus at Eden Dock instead - Excellent.

The air conditioning system was not working at all, no air coming out and the grill was not clean. The unit was so noisy. The soap, shampoo dispensers in the shoer area was either not re-filled properly, they were not working as well. The towel was not the bath size towels and pretty old towels. The whole room especially bath area need renovation.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The images on the listing are not accurate to the property at all, the room we stayed in wasn't even visible on the website. The lift is barely big enough for two grown adults, completely unusable and unsafe for anyone with small children a buggy or wheelchair. Yellow stains all around the toilet seat, tv falling off the wall, pretty much every fixture and fitting including lights, cables, the door the bathroom were hanging on by a thread. No cold water at all, only warm. The tiny box room we stayed in was on the top floor at the height of summer with nothing more than a basic office fan provided. There are countless reviews discussing bedbugs and when we pulled back the sheets it was clear it hadn't been washed, hair and stains from previous guests still visible. The staff were loudly slamming doors from 9am onwards, no attempt at quiet time for guests. We would have checked out immediately but we had an event so decided to cut out three nights down the one out of necessity. Front desk clearly had to deal with this frequently based on the non-chalant attitude, all that was offered was a different room (and risk bringing parasites into my home? absolutely not) and an email address for management. My emails have also been ignored by management.
