Clean, friendly and comfortable

Beautiful location, comfortable room, helpful staff

Food was great and varied,, house keeping staff were brilliant especially Isobel silva Pools were clean but cold Staff at reception were brilliant The only down side I could find was the beds were too hard and very worn, and could do with replacing. Overall a great place to stay but be aware on-site parking is 10 euros a day and the room safe is 19 euros a week ???? But if you want a good clean and well staffed hotel Look no further.

Hotel location and parking were extremely hard to find and navigate. The hotel in itself was nice and had kind staff. Our room was upgraded but it had a very strange layout. Tub was in the middle of the room which is awkward if traveling with friends and family, the shower and sink leaked into the main room, and there was insufficient lighting. Other than that it was a pleasant stay!

Staff at the reception counter were professional, courteous, and helpful. Staff in the restaurants could have been a little bit more helpful but no big deal.

The ocean was visible .we particularly enjoyed the beach cafe. My only criticism would be lack of privacy due to transclucent glass in shower and toilet plus the the toilet for was a sliding glass panel which was very noisy during the night

The property is like going into a novel set in the late 1800- early 1900s. The original workmanship was beautiful and the updates have changed it a little but it still has the essence of the time. The key and mail cubbies are there and the library doesn't have many books but has some interesting old items. The pool, terrace, and balcony off my 3rd floor room gave guests several places to be outside to enjoy the wonderful view. The bathroom taps were tricky to turn on and then continued to drip when turned off, so that wasn't so good and they were a bit stingy on towels. The wifi is only in public areas of the hotel, not in the rooms. The rooms could use better lighting, lamps etc. so one could read at night. It's quite a hike up to the top of the hill, but it made up for missing my exercise classes. The staff were polite and very helpful, for example the taxi driver was waiting for me upon arrival at the airport and was there early when I left. The toast cheese and ham was just right for an evening snack. It was fun to picture ladies from long ago in their long dresses and hats going up and down the stairs. It's nice they are preserving such a wonderful building! Dr. S
