Lake Garda Romantic Holidays

Really nice hotel right on the waters edge in Sirmione. We stayed for 3 nights in a room with a lake view. If you’re taking a car then drop a line to the hotel who will arrange parking at a large car park about 300 meters from the hotel. It’s about £10 per 24 hours and you get a complimentary chauffeured ‘stretch’ Golf Buggy which delivers you and any luggage direct to the hotel. If you travel ‘light’ it’s only about an 8 minute walk. The ‘Lake View’ part of our room was an added extra which I wouldn’t bother with again as you had to climb out your bedroom and look over a brick wall to see the lake and over the 3 days we saw the lake morning, noon and night. Can’t decide whether room was a bit dated or fitted in with the decor of the hotel, bit of unsightly mould around the shower but other than that room was very clean, (maid was daily). Biggest issue but not the biggest deal in the world was the lack of plug sockets, 1 behind the TV (being used by the TV) and the only other one in the bathroom (!). This made charging phones etc a bit problematic. Hotel staff were helpful and super friendly. Included ‘Free’ Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice but omelettes and poached eggs etc came at an additional price. The outdoor pool and spa is in a separate building opposite with the pool being a bit tight for space, you’d do well to just turn up and get a sun-bed, yet alone 2. We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Olivi - the staff were all lovely and very welcoming, and made our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. The room interiors were modern and well furnished/decorated with plenty of space and the pool is sizeable and not too crowded, even in the height of summer. Hotel Olivi is easily walkable from to the Sirmione Old Town, and is ideally located as a base for exploring Lake Garda.
