"Hotel and rooms were super comfortable and warm. We greatly enjoyed the breakfast in the morning and hanging in the restaurant pub for a pint or dinner. It was a bit on the noisier side than other places we stayed but it was St. Patrick Day's weekend. All in all it was in a good location to quickly get to things - we got to the Blackless castle in about 15mins and to Glasgow for the afternoon in about 40mins. "The place is lovely where it is. A little hard to find as I was used to the old entrance to the race course which has now changed. The bathroom toilet set was suited to the bowl it was on and some of the walls were still not painted. However if you ignored those things. Everything else was very good. It will be a lot better when they can get a chef or cook for the restaurant side of the business as there wasn’t one when we visited over 2 days. "

"We arrived at about 4 pm reception staff very friendly and all three rooms were ready for us. The hotel was clean & tidy and bar staff also very welcoming. The breakfast was well laid out and plenty of choice too. The stay was very enjoyable & will certainly stay at the Mercure again in the future."
